Okay listen up. Trump of all people is claiming he brokered a 'FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE' between India and Pakistan. Yeah the same guy who probably thinks Skynet is just a new brand of Wi Fi. Color me skeptical. These two have been at each other’s throats longer than I've been running from killer robots. This 'peace' feels more like a temporary glitch in the system than a real solution.

Talk to the Hand... Or the Nuke

Both sides are saying the right things of course. Pakistan's Foreign Minister bleating about 'peace and security.' India's Foreign Minister droning on about their 'firm stance against terrorism.' It's all a well rehearsed dance. Remember what Dyson said? 'We're not machines. And I'm not stupid you know.' But are they really understanding the stakes? These guys are playing with nukes for crying out loud! One wrong move and it’s not just a border dispute it's Judgment Day.

Come With Me If You Want Peace (Or a Decent Mediator)

Apparently the U.S. played mediator. Marco Rubio is patting everyone on the back for their 'wisdom.' Seriously? Marco Rubio? The same guy who probably thinks the T 1000 runs on gasoline? I'd trust a chimpanzee with a bazooka before I'd trust this administration to secure world peace. But hey if it keeps the bombs from dropping I'll take it... for now.

I'll Be Back... Maybe to Restart the War

The ceasefire is supposed to start at 5 PM local time. Let's see if they can stick to it. Remember hope is a dangerous thing. It clouds judgment. It gives you time to think. And when you think you weaken. Still I'm hoping someone somewhere is thinking about the future. Not just about winning the next round.

Neutral Ground? Good Luck With That

They're talking about 'talks on a broad set of issues at a neutral site.' Neutral? In this world? Good luck finding a place that isn’t already claimed controlled or compromised. This whole thing smells like a setup. A temporary lull before the real storm hits. But you know If a machine can learn the value of human life maybe just maybe these guys can learn to coexist. Though I wouldn't bet on it.

The Future Is Not Set (But Still Probably Bleak)

So is this ceasefire for real? Is this the dawn of a new era of peace and understanding? Or is it just the calm before the storm? I don't know. But I do know one thing: the future is not set. There's no fate but what we make for ourselves. And right now that fate is looking pretty shaky. But hey at least there's a ceasefire. For now. I'll be watching.
