Beans Versus Machines?!

Right then! I saw this news... thingy. Apparently these clever clogs at OpenAI (sound like a dodgy plumbing firm doesn't it?) have made a machine that can... *think* with pictures! Honestly! I thought thinking was what *I* did when trying to parallel park. Now these blighters have got a machine called o3 – sounds like a blocked drain! – that can look at my drawings even the ones I do with gravy on the tablecloth and understand them! Preposterous! What's next teaching Teddy to play Sudoku?

Studio Ghibli? More Like Studio Gibberish!

They're saying it can even do that fancy art like in those Japanese cartoons – Studio Ghibli they call it. Honestly I tried drawing like that once after a particularly potent cheese sandwich. It looked more like a badger exploding than a beautiful princess. This o3 thing apparently does it properly. Humph. Just wait until I get my hands on some crayons and a packet of biscuits. The machine won't know what's hit it! And the o4 mini which probably fits in your pocket and you can bring with you especially when the machine breaks down! Ha!

Teddy's Job Security At Risk!

Apparently it can understand whiteboards sketches… even diagrams! Does that mean it could understand my complicated system for toasting bread using only a rubber band a magnifying glass and a very angry squirrel? I hope not! Teddy would be furious if a machine started offering advice on how to warm a pasty. Honestly the cheek of it. 'Act independently' they said just as dangerous as someone with a can of spray paint! This is war!

Safety First or Not At All?!

Now they say they’ve tested these machines to make sure they don’t well cause a ruckus. But they also said they might change the rules if someone else makes a machine that’s a bit… dangerous. Sounds like they’re just making it up as they go along! Bit like when I tried to fix my Mini with a rusty wrench and some sticky tape. Didn't quite go to plan did it? If I had to change the safety requirements every time I made a mistake I'd be changing all day!

Model Names? More Like a Muddle!

And the names! o3 o4 mini… honestly it sounds like I’m ordering soup at a very confusing restaurant. Even the boss man at OpenAI agrees! He said they need to fix their naming system. Good! Because if they start calling them things like 'Mr. Bean's Brain 2.0,' I'm suing! I mean I'll ask Mrs. Wicket to write the letter first but suing nonetheless!

Bring On The Machines! Or Maybe Not...

So there you have it. Machines that can think with pictures. I'm not sure whether to be impressed or terrified. Perhaps I should train Teddy to fight them. Or maybe just hide him under the sofa. Yes much safer. Right off to find some crayons. I've got a few ideas of my own I'd like to put on paper. And maybe draw my own version of the machine you know with a face looking like me! Farewell!
