Boeing's Back Baby! (That's What She Said)
Alright! So Boeing yeah? They're like that one girl at the bar who's had a rough patch but is suddenly lookin' real good again. Their gross orders hit 303 last month – that’s more than I've had dates in my entire life Giggity! They're tryin' to give Airbus a run for their money. And let me tell you competition is healthy… especially when there are flight attendants involved.
Deliveries: Getting' 'Em Out the Door (And Hopefully Not Falling Apart)
They managed to hand over 45 planes in May. Not bad not bad at all. It’s like finally getting that stubborn zipper unstuck if you catch my drift! Deliveries mean cash and cash means more opportunities to uh 'invest' in… research and development. Yeah that's it.
Orders Galore: Someone's Been a Busy Beaver!
Boeing's snagged orders for 512 planes this year while Airbus is lagging behind with a measly 215. It’s like winning the lottery...the lottery of large metal birds! And with the Paris Air Show coming up who knows what kind of deals they’ll strike? Maybe they'll invent a plane that can fly directly to a hot tub party. One can only dream giggity.
FAA's Handcuffs: A Little Too Restrictive?
Remember that whole door plug thing? Yikes! The FAA capped Boeing's 737 Max production at 38 a month which is a real buzzkill. It’s like telling me I can only wink at 38 women a month... utterly unreasonable! But Boeing's CEO Kelly Ortberg is planning to stabilize production and then ask the FAA for permission to crank it up. Smart move Kelly. Smart move.
Qatar's Got the Hots for Boeing (Just Like I Have for... Well Everyone)
Qatar Airways dropped a massive order for 787 Dreamliners and those yet to be certified 777X planes. It’s like finding out that all your ex girlfriends want you back… except instead of ex girlfriends it’s giant shiny airplanes. And Trump was there! What a power move. This is better than the time I won that wet t shirt contest. Well almost.
China's Back in the Game (Hopefully They Bring Me Back Some Souvenirs)
Boeing expects to start delivering planes to Chinese airlines again after a pause during the trade war. Which is fantastic news! More places to fly more exotic destinations and hopefully more opportunities to meet interesting… people. Boeing's got a backlog of 5,943 planes. That's a lot of people they're gonna be transporting. Who knows what kind of adventures await?
