Run, Don, Run... Out of Congress! Nebraska Seat Up for Grabs!

And Just Like That He's Gone!

Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates you never know what you're gonna get. And sometimes what you get is a Congressman deciding to hang up his boots. Seems like this Congressman Don Bacon in Nebraska he's thinking about retiring. Now I don't know much about politics but I know Nebraska's a long way from Vietnam! But I hear tell it’s gonna be a big ol’ race to see who gets his seat.

A Seat's a Seat... Or Is It?

So apparently this seat in Congress is kinda important. Like deciding who gets the remote on movie night important. Seems like the Democrats are wanting it and since Mr. Bacon might be leaving they think they got a real good chance. It's like when Bubba and me were shrimp fishing we had to be quick to get the best spots! This seat it's like the best shrimping spot of all!

No Incumbent? Golly!

They say without Mr. Bacon the Republicans don't have that 'incumbent advantage'. I don't rightly know what that means but it sounds like having Jenny at your side. Makes things a whole lot easier! I guess it's like starting a ping pong game even. It just became anyone's game now.

As Early as Next Week... That's Fast!

The news folks are saying this announcement could come real soon. Like before you can say 'Run Forrest Run!' soon. The NBC people and some other folks too they're all saying it's happening. Mr. Bacon's folks ain't saying nothin' though. Maybe they're just playing ping pong and don't have time to talk!

Omaha Omaha Wherefore Art Thou Omaha?

This Nebraska district it's mostly Omaha they say. And seems like the folks there voted for that Kamala Harris lady by a fair bit and even more for that President Joe Biden fella back in 2020. So maybe they like Democrats there? It's all mighty confusing to me but Mama always said 'Stupid is as stupid does.' And I'm just reporting what I hear!

Trump Trump Away!

Now here's a thing. Mr. Bacon he didn't always see eye to eye with that President Trump. I don't know much about that either but I reckon it's like me and Bubba arguing about the best way to cook shrimp. Everyone's got their own way I suppose. And sometimes you just gotta run in the opposite direction! Anyway it is what it is.
