Reality Distortion Field Malfunction!

Well well well looks like even the mighty Apple can't escape the watchful eye of the advertising police! Apparently they got a little ahead of themselves promising AI features on the iPhone 16 that were more like vaporware than reality. The National Advertising Division (NAD) bless their cotton socks called them out on it. I mean come on even I know you can't just promise the moon and deliver a cheese grater! It's like promising self driving cars and giving people a souped up golf cart.

More Personal Siri... Eventually!

So there was this ad 'More Personal Siri,' showcasing all these amazing AI improvements to Siri. Sounds great right? Except plot twist! Those improvements were nowhere to be found. Apple in their infinite wisdom decided to pull the ad after the NAD started asking questions. Classic move! It reminds me of that time I promised full self driving 'soon'… still working on that one. But hey at least I'm not facing a class action lawsuit… yet.

From 'Available Now' to 'AI for the Rest of Us' The Great Tagline Shift

The tagline used to say Apple Intelligence was 'available now.' Now it reads 'AI for the rest of us.' See folks this is called 'pivoting.' When things go sideways just change the words! It is like renaming Twitter to X right?! Genius if I do say so myself! They even started running a new ad focusing on the 'Clean Up' feature which let's be honest is probably the only AI feature that actually works right now. Baby steps people baby steps.

Disclosure? What Disclosure?

The NAD pointed out that Apple didn't adequately disclose that these amazing AI features weren't actually you know AVAILABLE! Apparently reasonable consumers might have thought they were getting something they weren't. Who could have predicted that?! The NAD is part of BBB National Programs a non profit so at least there is no government over reach here! They are actually keeping the markets honest imagine that.

Apple's Response: 'We Disagree But We'll Play Along'

Apple's response was pure corporate gold: "We disagree with the findings but will follow the group's recommendations." Translation: "We think you're wrong but we don't want to make a fuss." It's like when the SEC asks questions about my tweets. You just smile nod and try to change the subject. That has worked so far!

Is Apple Intelligence Enough to Boost Apple Stock?

Investors are wondering if Apple Intelligence can actually boost Apple stock. A Morgan Stanley survey found that 80% of U.S. users with supported iPhones have tried the features and over half of current iPhone owners looking to upgrade say it's important to have Apple Intelligence on their next device. Over half would even pay $10+ per month for the feature! See folks? The future is subscriptions even for features that should be free! Maybe Tesla should introduce heated seats as a monthly subscription? Wait don't quote me on that...Unless...!
