Aw Phooey! United's Back at JFK?!
Well blow me down! Looks like United Airlines is waddling back to John F. Kennedy Airport in Queens! Remember when they left? Said it was a 'mistake,' and now they're teaming up with JetBlue! Can you believe it? It's like me trying to bake a cake – always a bit of a mess but hey at least they're trying again!
Blue Sky Thinking or Just a Quack?
This whole thing is called 'Blue Sky,' which sounds like something Huey Dewey and Louie would dream up. They're gonna sell each other's tickets and let you earn miles on both airlines. Priority boarding? Roomier seats? Oh boy oh boy oh boy! But hold your horses folks gotta wait for those regulators to give it the okay. It's always something isn't it? 'Everything's against me!' as I always say.
A Rivalry Rumble...or a Friendly Fly?
Apparently JetBlue's been squawking about needing a partner to take on the big guys like United and that other airline Delta. United's CEO Scott Kirby says they'll be huge in Boston together. Plus United gets more access to Florida and the Caribbean where JetBlue's got a real grip. And JetBlue gets to fly to all sorts of places United goes. Talk about a win win eh? Reminds me of the time I tried to outsmart Gladstone Gander. Never works out quite as planned!
No Funny Business This Time!
Now this ain't like that time JetBlue tried to team up with American Airlines. The judge said 'no way Jose!' and shut it down faster than you can say 'Oh boy oh boy oh boy!' And remember JetBlue trying to buy Spirit? Nope shot down too! So this new deal is supposed to be different. No funny business just a simple partnership. Sure sure... I'll believe it when I see it! 'I'll fix it so's you'll never do that again!' is what I'd say to any trouble makers!
Patience Friend... Patience!
Don't get your feathers in a ruffle just yet! United's flights at JFK won't start until 2027. 2027! That's like waiting for Daisy to decide what she wants for dinner! JetBlue gets eight flights at Newark though. They're calling it a 'net neutral exchange.' Whatever that means. As long as I get my seat I don't care who's flying where!
What Does It All Mean?
So there you have it folks! United and JetBlue a partnership as surprising as me winning a pie baking contest! Will it work? Will it flop? Only time will tell! But one thing's for sure: it's gonna be interesting. 'Nobody loves me!' But maybe just maybe this partnership will bring cheaper flights. Now that's something even I can get excited about!
