Aw, Phooey! Judge Says Trump's DOGE Takeover of Peace Institute Was a Big Mistake!

What in the World is Going On?!

Aw gee whiz! This is Donald Duck here reporting live from my little houseboat! And boy have things been a mess lately! This 'Trump' fella along with some DOGE thingamajigger led by Elon Musk (sounds like a villain from one of Uncle Scrooge's adventures!) tried to take over the U.S. Institute of Peace. Imagine that! They thought they could just waltz in and say 'Aw phooey on peace!' Well a judge just told them 'Oh no you don't!'

A Legal Quack Up!

Turns out this Judge Howell she's no pushover! She said their actions were 'null and void'. Null and void! Sounds serious eh? She basically said that Trump and his Department of Government Efficiency (sounds like a place where they try to make you pay your taxes faster!) can't just go around chopping up the government like it's a Sunday roast. And this DOGE thing? Seems like they got a real dressing down. 'What's the big idea?' I say!

They Took Over the Headquarters?! You're Kidding!

So get this! These DOGE fellas they actually took over the U.S. Institute of Peace headquarters! With the help of... the police?! What a world what a world! It all happened after Trump signed some order saying the institute was 'unnecessary.' Unnecessary?! Like saying my sailor suit is unnecessary! They even replaced the acting president George Moose (no relation to me I hope!) and fired almost everyone! Talk about a hostile takeover!

Judge Howell to the Rescue!

But fear not folks! Judge Howell swooped in like a super duck! She ordered George Moose to be reinstated and called the DOGE replacements 'illegitimately installed.' Ouch! She said Trump's actions were unlawful because the Institute of Peace isn't even part of the government! It's like saying I can't boss around Daisy's garden club! It just ain't right!

Congress Saves the Day!

The judge also said that Congress has the right to protect the institute even from the President. It's like when I try to sneak extra dessert and Huey Dewey and Louie team up to stop me! They're always looking out for the greater good. Apparently Trump even used 'threats of criminal process' to take over. 'Oh boy oh boy oh boy!' that sounds like trouble!

No Comment... From the White House!

The White House? They didn't say a peep after the ruling. Maybe they were too busy playing hooky! The Institute of Peace had asked the judge to stop the DOGE takeover back in March but she said it was too 'complicated.' Well it looks like she figured it out now! And about time too I say. 'This is the last straw!'... almost!
