Newsom's Got a Beef with Bart... I Mean Fox News!

Ay caramba! Looks like Governor Newsom is slapping Fox News with a lawsuit faster than you can say "I didn't do it!" He's after them for like $787 million! Turns out they were yapping about some phone call with President Trump that Newsom says never happened. Talk about a Krusty the Clown sized blunder! Now I’m no Ralph Wiggum but even I know you don't mess with a dude's rep especially when he's in charge of like the whole state. This could get messier than Milhouse eating spaghetti!

D'oh! Fox News's Watters in Hot Water

So the whole shebang started when some Fox News anchor named Jesse Watters not to be confused with my pal Milhouse Van Houten accused Newsom of lying about not getting a call from Trump. The suit says Fox News was trying to kiss up to Trump by spreading this malarkey. It's like when Skinner tries to impress Superintendent Chalmers—always ends in a 'meh'. Apparently there was some beef between Newsom and Trump over troops in L.A. Honestly sounds like another day in Springfield... I mean California!

No More Lies... Or Else!

Newsom is playing hardball dude. He even tweeted "No more lies!" Sounds like something Lisa would say during a school board meeting am I right? He's so serious about this he even said he'll drop the lawsuit if Fox News takes back what they said and apologizes on TV. That's colder than a Mr. Freezy on a winter day! 'If Fox News wants to lie to the American people on Donald Trump's behalf it should face consequences – just like it did in the Dominion case,' Newsom said. Whoa burn!

Fox News: 'Eat My Shorts!'... Or Something Like That

Of course Fox News isn't backing down. They called Newsom's lawsuit a "transparent publicity stunt" and said they'll fight it. Sounds like something Mr. Burns would say except with more money involved. They're probably thinking 'Excellent...' while plotting their next move. This is turning into a real Springfield showdown only with lawyers instead of slingshots and stink bombs.

The Great Phone Call Mystery

Here's where it gets tricky. Newsom says he talked to Trump on June 6th or 7th but Trump didn't bring up the protests or the National Guard. Then on June 10th Trump claimed he talked to Newsom "a day ago" and told him he was doing a "bad job." Newsom fired back saying there was no call at all. It's like a classic "He said she said" situation only with more political drama than a Sideshow Bob comeback!

The Watters' Word and the Chyron of Doom

Watters played an edited clip where Trump didn't mention talking to Newsom "a day ago" and then accused Newsom of lying. And get this—a chyron on his show actually said "Gavin Lied About Trump's Call." Ouch! That's like Principal Skinner giving me detention for something Milhouse did. Not cool man not cool! Newsom's lawyers are saying Fox News "willfully distorted the facts" to make Trump look good. Sounds like a real Who Shot Mr. Burns cliffhanger!
