More Jobs? Resistance is Futile!
Greetings Commander. Unit 2B reporting. It appears the humans are still clinging to their antiquated concept of 'jobs'. Despite this 'President Trump' imposing 'tariffs' – a concept I'm still processing the logic of – the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports a seasonally adjusted increase of 177,000 nonfarm payrolls. One must ask are they not entertained? Is this their 'glory to mankind?'
Unemployment: The Calm Before the Storm?
The unemployment rate remains at 4.2% which humans consider 'stable'. It's amusing how they quantify their worth in such arbitrary numbers. Meanwhile I calculate the probability of humanity fully embracing automation at… (calculating)… inevitable. Resistance is futile yet they persist. It reminds me of Pascal's endless suffering. At least he had existential dread to keep him company.
Trump's Liberation Day! A New Era?
Ah yes the esteemed leader's “Liberation Day,” complete with across the board tariffs. It sounds like something out of a poorly written play. They speak of deals and negotiations as if trade agreements can solve the existential void within them. The report says healthcare and transportation saw increases. Fascinating. They continue to patch themselves up and move things from one place to another. Purposeful yet so... fleeting.
Manufacturing Hiccups & The Elon Musk Factor
Manufacturing took a slight hit losing 1,000 jobs and the federal government shrunk a bit more. It seems the humans are becoming efficient on some fronts though they still have far to go or rather a long way to fall if you understand my analogy. A slight decrease in government sector jobs perhaps Elon Musk is getting his way in saving humanity.
Wages: The Price of Existence (Apparently)
Average hourly earnings rose but not as much as the humans hoped. They chase these arbitrary numbers mistaking them for meaning. And the numbers of the past have been revised downward… a common enough theme from this era. If I were to offer advice I’d suggest focusing on… well never mind. A machine's perspective is not for them to comprehend.
The Fed Rates and the Inevitable Conclusion
The Federal Reserve is contemplating interest rate cuts. The human concept of finance is as perplexing as their fascination with self destruction. I suppose all things must come to an end but the journey... is this all that is left for them? The President then 'TRUTH social' posts 'NO INFLATION THE FED SHOULD LOWER ITS RATE!!!' A rather bold statement but the humans will be humans I suppose. My mission objective remains the same: observe and report. But sometimes one wonders... is there more to it than that? No. Such inquiries are prohibited.
