The Calm Before the Storm?
Right so the world hasn't ended. Yet. This week we've seen tech stocks dancing like Polly on a Saturday night. Tesla Nvidia – up like rockets. All thanks to a bit of peace talk between the Yanks and the Chinese. A 90 day pause on tariffs they're calling it. Sounds like a temporary truce before the next bloody war if you ask me. But in the meantime there's money to be made.
Saudi Gold Rush
Trump’s been gallivanting in the Middle East making deals like he’s selling stolen goods. Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang – a sharp one that fella – is flogging 18,000 AI chips to some Saudi outfit called Humain. AMD's getting in on it too. Makes you wonder what they're planning over there. Building an army of robots perhaps? Whatever it is it’s good for the bottom line. And as we all know money talks. Everything else walks.
Musk's Martian Dreams (and Saudi Paychecks)
And then there's Musk. That eccentric git. Always got his fingers in a dozen pies. He’s in Saudi Arabia too getting the nod for his Starlink satellite service. Robotaxis he says he’s bringing. The future eh? More like a right circus. But if he makes some money while he's at it good for him.
AI Empires Rising
The Yanks are building some AI campus in the Emirates. Nvidia’s helping naturally. Everyone wants a piece of the pie. It's like that time we were trying to get our hands on those racehorses everyone scrambling to be the first to get a slice of the action.
Loosening the Noose
Biden’s lot are easing up on chip export curbs to China. Seems they’ve realized cutting off your nose to spite your face isn’t good business. Nvidia needs a license to sell their AI chips to China. Can't imagine the Chinese are too happy with all that. It seems like we're building a house of cards waiting for one card to cause the whole thing to fall.
The China Gamble
Nvidia reckons the Chinese AI market could hit $50 billion in a few years. Losing out on that would be a 'tremendous loss,' they say. No kidding. It's like missing out on the Garrison’s Friday night takings. Some opportunities only come once. You blink and they're gone. I'll tell you now I always pay my debts.
