What's up doc? Yours truly Bugs Bunny reporting LIVE from… well not France. But I hear French President Emmanuel Macron is cooking up a scheme to make France a chip making powerhouse. He wants France to be making the most advanced chips in the world. Sounds like he's tired of relying on Elmer Fudd and his foreign contraptions. As the saying goes *'Of course you realize this means war!'*

Nvidia's Surprise French Connection

Turns out Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang dropped a carrot – I mean a bombshell – that their very first GPU was made in France! By SGS Thomson Microelectronics now STMicroelectronics. But hold on to your hare because STMicroelectronics isn't exactly at the front of the pack these days. *'What a maroon!'* But Macron's not backing down!

From 2nm to 10nm: The Nanometer Nonsense

Macron's got his sights set on making chips in the 2 to 10 nanometer range. The smaller the nanometer the more those little transistors you can cram in there and the more powerful the chip is. Apple's got 3nm chips! *'Ain't I a stinker?'* But only a few companies can pull that off like Samsung and TSMC.

TSMC or Not TSMC? That Is The Question!

So if France wants in on this super advanced chip action they'll probably need TSMC or Samsung to build a factory there. Kind of like how the U.S. is doing it. Macron's trying to sweet talk them into setting up shop. Sounds like he's saying *'Be vewy vewy quiet I'm hunting wabbits...or chips!'*

Foxconn Frolics in France?

There's this deal with Thales Radiall and Foxconn from Taiwan to maybe possibly set up a semiconductor assembly thingy in France. Macron's all in: "I want to convince them to make the manufacturing in France!" *'Hmph...the nerve of some people!'* This all went down at VivaTech some fancy tech shindig.

AI Cloud Cuckoo Land

Nvidia and French AI model firm Mistral are teaming up to build an "AI cloud". France wants to build up its AI game and Macron's throwing around billions like they're… well carrots. He says this Nvidia and Mistral deal is a real game changer. *'Eh super genius!'* This could be interesting or just plain looney tunes. We'll see!
