Bloody Tariffs: A Right Mess

Right listen up. John David Rainey Walmart's numbers man has been flapping his gums about tariffs. Seems even they can't dodge the taxman forever. Said prices are going up thanks to those bloody duties. A 90 day reprieve they say dropping duties on Chinese imports to 30%. But who knows for how long? Truth is this country's economic climate is far more temperamental than Polly on a bad day.

Bananas Avocados and Roses: The Casualties of War

Doug McMillon the top dog at Walmart is bleating about bananas avocados coffee and roses. Seems those fancy fruits and flowers from Costa Rica Peru and Colombia are getting hit hard. As if anyone in Small Heath gives a damn about avocados. Though I suppose even Shelby Company Limited needs a splash of colour sometimes.

Toys and Xboxes: A Kid's Nightmare

The kids are in for a shock too. Seems toys and electronics from China are getting a price hike. Barbie and Xbox consoles they're all going up. Tell you what if the kids start complaining send them to work in the Garrison. That'll toughen 'em up and they'll understand the value of a hard earned penny. No more bloody free rides. April's Folly: The Sting of Early Imports

The rot started in April apparently. Back to school gear coming in already hit with higher duties. They're paying the piper at customs and now so will the customers. Makes you think doesn't it? But thinking is a luxury few can afford in this game. Especially the tax man.

Here's the kicker: Walmart's playing it smart. They're talking about 'playing offense' and absorbing some of the hit in the short term. That's Shelby Company Limited tactics right there. Sacrifice a bit now to gain the upper hand later. Scare the competition watch them bleed and take what's theirs. They're aiming to gain market share. Good. That's how you win. So prices are going up at Walmart. Shocker. But don't you worry your pretty little heads. They'll still be flogging cheap goods and they reckon they'll come out on top. Me?
