Right so I've just had a butcher's at this report and I'm seeing red. Apparently some of these bloody tariffs that Donald Trump's slapped on everything are now making life a right nightmare for new parents. A report from the Joint Economic Committee says that the price of essential baby gear – you know the stuff you *need* to keep the little blighters alive – has gone up. By how much? A flaming 24%! Are you taking the PISS?!

The Price is WRONG!

They've been tracking the prices of car seats bassinets strollers high chairs and even baby monitors. Baby monitors! So now not only are you sleep deprived covered in baby sick and questioning every life choice you've ever made but you're also getting financially rinsed thanks to some bloke in a suit who thinks he knows better? It's enough to make you scream 'WHERE'S THE LAMB SAUCE?!'

Babylist Blues

This Babylist mob they're saying that nearly all the strollers and car seats in America come from China. Ninety seven percent of strollers 87% of car seats. So naturally when the tariffs hit BOOM! Prices go through the roof. Senator Maggie Hassan's fuming calling it a 'new tax on babies.' She's not wrong. It's like charging extra for the air they breathe! Absolutely mental!

Graco ing Mad

Of course there's always one company trying to wriggle out of it. Graco who make car seats are saying the report's a load of bollocks because they had a sale on at the time. Listen here you panini head! Whether it was a sale or not prices are still going up aren't they? Don't try to pull the wool over my eyes. I've seen more honest politicians than you've had hot dinners.

The Great American Rip Off

Apparently this price hike is costing new parents in the US a staggering $875.2 million. California's getting it the worst facing an extra $100 million in baby costs. Texas Florida New York – you're all getting shafted too! It's a flipping national disgrace! "And the tariffs are already forcing some businesses to choose between laying off workers raising prices for customers or closing altogether."

So what's the answer? I don't know! Maybe Trump should stop playing silly buggers with trade and start thinking about the people who are actually trying to build a future. New parents have got enough on their plate without being squeezed dry by political games. It's about time someone told him to GET HIS ACT TOGETHER! Or at least learn to cook a decent risotto. That's be a start wouldn't it?
