The Feds Are At The Door

Right so word on the street – or should I say from across the pond – is that the U.S. Department of Education is sniffing around UC Berkeley's books. Seems they're not too happy with how Berkeley's been playing with its foreign funds. They say some disclosures are 'incomplete or inaccurate.' Peaky Blinders know a thing or two about keeping ledgers in order and if the Feds are involved it's more serious than a razor blade in a flat cap.

Hundreds of Millions? By Order!

Apparently there are whispers of Berkeley not disclosing hundreds of millions of dollars from some foreign entity. Hundreds of millions eh? That’s enough to buy a few racehorses a distillery and still have enough left over for a new suit. But then again maybe someone forgot to burn the books. We all make mistakes don't we?

Trump's Shadow Looms

This whole thing kicked off after Trump signed some executive order waving his hand and demanding universities come clean about foreign funding. The old adage 'If you don't know who your enemies are then you probably don't know who your friends are either.' Foreign influence is a dangerous game and no one wants to see their business threatened from overseas.

Berkeley's Playing Ball... For Now

Berkeley's claiming they're cooperating says some bloke called Dan Mogulof. Talking about working with federal inquiries. Good. Because the only thing worse than a rat is a rat who thinks he can outsmart the Peaky Blinders. 'We will continue to do so,' he says. Let's hope so. 'Everyone is a whore Grace. We just sell different parts of ourselves.' Some sell secrets some sell silence.

Biden's Blind Eye?

Linda McMahon from the Department of Education is calling out the Biden administration for turning a blind eye. Says they allowed foreign gifts to pour onto campuses. Politics eh? It's a dirty business. Like horses they're beautiful but they're temperamental. We all play our parts and some parts are dirtier than others.

Another Bloody Crusade

Of course this all comes on the heels of Trump cracking down on universities for all sorts of things from pro Palestinian protests to transgender rights. He's threatening to cut funding. Free speech they say but everyone has an agenda. 'Whiskey's good proofing water. Tells you who's real and who isn't.'
