The Senate in a move as surprising as Sub Zero showing up in the Netherrealm narrowly passed President Trump's megabill. It seems even they were fighting amongst themselves needing a tie breaking vote from Vice President JD Vance. A close call indeed almost as close as when I’m about to land a fatal blow. But the real battle has just begun.

TOASTY! House Republicans Feeling the Burn

Now Speaker Mike Johnson faces a fiery trial by combat in the House. Some Republicans are already shouting “GET OVER HERE!” with objections to the Senate's version. Representative Andy Ogles called the bill a “dud.” A dud! As if a dud could compare to the pain of facing my hellfire! Meanwhile Representative Ralph Norman is also reportedly on the warpath. Looks like Johnson's got a real test of strength endurance and probably a few underhanded tactics much like Shang Tsung.

If every member of the House shows up to fight (and that's a big 'if' considering the weather) Johnson can only afford to lose three votes and still win this. However strong storms have grounded flights preventing some members from returning to the arena. No teleportation here folks; they have to physically be present to vote. Seems even the elements are against them. Like when Raiden tries to intervene but just makes things worse!

FLAWLESS VICTORY? The July 4th Deadline

Tick tock! The deadline for this political showdown is fast approaching. July 4th looms like Shao Kahn ready to smash his hammer down. Trump's tone has softened somewhat but make no mistake the House must approve the Senate's changes before this bill can even reach his desk. It seems as convoluted as Quan Chi's schemes! It's been changed so much from the original House version that some Republicans are having a Kung Lao moment and throwing their hats in anger.

Speaking of problems House Republicans are raising the alarm about the Senate package. Deeper cuts to Medicaid? A higher price tag? Sounds like they're trying to squeeze blood from a stone. The Senate's version also increases the debt ceiling by $5 trillion much higher than the House's measly $4 trillion. The Congressional Budget Office estimates the bill could add over $3.9 trillion to the national debt! Even I Scorpion know that debt is a heavy burden. Just ask the Shirai Ryu.
