China Trade Talks: We're Gonna Make a Deal, the Best Deal!

China China China! We're On It!

Folks let me tell you everyone's talking about China. They're saying 'Mr. President what are you going to do about China?' And I tell them 'Don't worry we have the best people on it!' Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer are going to London. They're smart they're tough and they know how to make a deal. A great deal. The best deal believe me.

Xi and I: A Beautiful Phone Call

I had a tremendous phone call with President Xi. Really tremendous. We talked about trade we talked about the economy we talked about frankly everything. We're both looking to avoid a full blown trade war because nobody wins in a war folks. But let me tell you if we have to we will win and we will win bigly. I have tremendous respect for President Xi. He's a tough negotiator but I'm tougher. We're gonna make a deal and it's going to be so good you won't believe it!

Tariffs: They Work!

Some people say tariffs are bad. Wrong! Tariffs are great! They bring in money they protect our industries and they make other countries play fair. When I announced those tariffs on China they didn't like it one bit. But you know what? They came to the table. They wanted to talk. And that's because they know I'm not afraid to use tariffs. It's like I always say 'Sometimes by losing a battle you find a new way to win the war.' And we are winning folks. We are winning!

The Geneva Agreement: We're Watching Them Very Closely

We had this Geneva agreement okay? And we lowered the tariffs and they lowered the tariffs. But let me tell you we're watching them very closely. Very very closely. If they don't live up to their end of the bargain we're going to do something about it. We're not going to let them take advantage of us. We're not stupid. We have great intelligence. We know everything. Believe me.

Critical Minerals and Student Visas: It's All About Fairness

They're complaining that we're slow to approve their critical minerals. Well maybe they should be faster to approve our student visas! It's a two way street folks. It's all about fairness. We want fair trade we want fair treatment and we're not going to settle for anything less. It's like I always say 'Get even. When you are working hard for your family don't let anyone take advantage of you.' And we're not letting anyone take advantage of America anymore!

Moving Forward: It's Going to be Fantastic!

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt she's fantastic by the way said that these London talks are all about moving forward with the Geneva agreement. And she's right. We have strategic interests in each other's markets. But we're going to protect our interests and we're going to make sure that America comes out on top. It's going to be great. It's going to be fantastic. You're going to see. Believe me!
