Groovy baby! Word on the street—or rather from the Vatican—is that Pope Francis has shuffled off this mortal coil. At 88 he's gone to that big Vatican in the sky! The cat's out of the bag the Pope is no more he has ceased to be! He’s expired and gone to meet his maker! He’s a stiff! Bereft of life he rests in peace! If he hadn't have been nailed to the perch he'd be pushing up the daisies! His metabolic processes are now history! He's off the twig! He's kicked the bucket shuffled off the mortal coil run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX POPE! A real shame really. He was quite the character that Francis. Not afraid to get his cassock dirty if you know what I mean! Wink wink nudge nudge!

Now this Popey man he wasn't just any holy Joe. He was the first Jesuit Pope and get this the first one from the Southern Hemisphere! Argentina baby! Land of tango Evita and now a seriously groovy Pope. Imagine him doing the tango with the cardinals—now that's a sight I'd pay good money to see! He stepped into Benedict XVI's shoes back in '13 and decided to spice things up a bit. 'I like to live dangerously!' as I always say!

Francis bless his cotton socks wasn't afraid to ruffle a few feathers baby! He had those conservative types at the Vatican clutching their rosaries I tell ya! But he was a hit with the progressives championing social justice and sticking up for the underdogs. Talk about a man of the people! He was the 'people's Pope'! It was like watching Dr. Evil try to understand the '60s – totally baffled but secretly impressed. But people are asking what is the church without him? It's like fish and chips without vinegar!

Easter Sunday and a Farewell Vance: The Final Act!

His last gig? Hanging out with U.S. Vice President JD Vance on Easter Sunday no less! Vance seemed quite moved bless his heart reminiscing about a homily from the early days of COVID. It was a touching moment. Almost makes you want to cry into your kippers! Although his time with Pope Francis was brief I am sure the Vice President will never forget meeting such an iconic man!

The world went into mourning baby! From Trump (and Melania) to Macron everyone was singing the Pope's praises. Even King Charles chimed in mourning the loss of a 'faithful follower of Jesus Christ.' High praise indeed! And of course the likely next Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz mentioned that the Pope's commitment to the weakest in society to justice and reconciliation was unparalleled! You know sometimes even I get a bit choked up. Bloody hormones!

Shalom and Salaam: A Pope for Peace!

And get this even Israeli President Herzog and Iran's Foreign Ministry were sending their condolences! Pope Francis always spoke out against violence especially in the Middle East. He was a real advocate for a ceasefire in the Israel Hamas conflict. What a guy! A true international man of mystery...and peace! He really was bringing people together baby! You'd think he had some sort of groovy mojo working eh? Oh behave! That's what he would tell me I'm sure!
