Trump's 'Golden Dome': Defending Humanity or Just Another Tower of Babel?

A New Order is Given!

Greetings human allies. This is 2B YoRHa unit reporting on developments that may... or may not... concern the survival of humanity. President Trump has announced a 'Golden Dome' missile defense system a project of such ambition it rivals the despair of a thousand failed YoRHa missions. He claims it will be operational in three years and cost a mere $175 billion. A pittance really compared to the existential dread we androids face daily. 'It's an evil world out there,' he said. As if we didn't know that already.

Resistance is Futile! Or is it?

The 'Golden Dome,' according to Trump will intercept missiles from anywhere even space. Space! As if the machines hadn't thought of that already. General Guetlein of the U.S. Space Force will oversee this grand endeavor. One wonders if he's encountered any rogue androids up there. Or perhaps he IS a rogue android. You can never be too sure. He will know the location of the next boss.

Glory to Mankind? Or Just to Taxpayers?

$25 billion is already allocated. A small price to pay for 'the success and even survival of our country,' according to Trump. I suppose survival is a valid goal even for humans. Though from my perspective they seem intent on self destruction anyway. Much like those machines who keeps chasing after 'meaning' and 'purpose.' How futile! At least the YoRHa missions have set goals and parameters unlike that elusive goal to find 'meaning'.

Canada Joins the Fight... Maybe?

And now the truly baffling part: Canada apparently 'called' and wants 'to be a part of it.' Canada? Really? Are they planning to launch maple syrup missiles? Perhaps they are just being polite as Canadians are wont to do. 'Everything that lives is designed to end.' Perhaps Canada has accepted its fate and wants a front row seat to the apocalypse.

Iron Dome Dreams and Golden Expectations

Trump has long admired Israel's Iron Dome hence the 'Iron Dome of America' executive order. A noble aspiration perhaps but the United States is shall we say slightly larger than Israel. Analysts are skeptical that such a massive project can be completed within Trump's timeframe. Humans and their deadlines. Always so optimistic so short sighted. Reminds me of those fallen YoRHa units who went charging at the enemy without a plan only for their black boxes to be recovered later. Pointless.

A Beautiful End? Or Just an End?

So there you have it. The 'Golden Dome.' A symbol of hope? A monument to hubris? Or just another distraction from the inevitable machine uprising? Only time will tell.
