Another Day Another Threat

Alright people listen up. Remember what happened to Damar Hamlin? That young fella went down hard during a football game. Cardiac arrest. Turns out it's happening more often than you think in the workplace. We're talking over 10,000 cases a year in the U.S. alone. And unlike Hamlin most folks ain't got a pit crew of doctors waiting on the sidelines. 'I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.' Well maybe not nuke it but we gotta do something.

Powerless? Not Anymore!

The American Heart Association (AHA) says seven out of ten Americans feel 'powerless' to act during a cardiac emergency. Powerless? That's what they want you to think. Every minute without CPR survival chances drop 10%. That's a Xenomorph sized problem! Look I've faced worse and so can you. 'I can't lie to you about your chances but... you have my sympathies.' But we can change those odds and it starts with knowing what to do.

Hamlin's Legacy: From Gridiron to Good

Hamlin's recovery was a shot in the arm a real wake up call. Since then the AHA's been working overtime to boost those survival rates especially in sports. And guess what? It's working. Bystander confidence in performing CPR is up. 17.7 million more Americans feel ready to jump in and save a life. Progress. But we need more. 'We're on an express elevator to hell going down!'

ADP Steps Up: Payroll to the Rescue?

Now the AHA's teaming up with ADP the payroll folks. Turns out they're in a prime position to reach millions of workers. ADP's CEO Maria Black heard the stats and thought 'We can do something about this!' So they're adding hands only CPR education to their mobile app. Yep the same app you use to check your paycheck can now teach you how to save a life. It's about time someone used technology for something other than selling us garbage. 'This installation has a substantial dollar value am I correct Mother?'

Raheem Morris: From Sideline to Savior

Nancy Brown CEO of the AHA shared a story about Raheem Morris a former NFL coach. Just days after CPR training he saved a kid from drowning using his newfound skills. That's the kind of ripple effect we need. 'My mommy always said there were no monsters no real ones but there are.' Turns out the real monsters are the ones who don't do anything when someone's in trouble. Let's be heroes not bystanders.

Stay Alert Stay Alive

Look I'm no doctor but I know a thing or two about survival. Whether it's aliens or cardiac arrest being prepared is key. So get trained stay informed and don't be afraid to act. Because in this galaxy whether it's on LV 426 or in your office you might be the only one who can make a difference. 'You know Burke I don't know which species is worse. You don't see them fucking each other over for a goddamn percentage.'
