The King's Gambit
So the old man Buffett the 'Oracle of Omaha,' is finally stepping down. Sixty years they say. That's a bloody long time even for a Peaky Blinder. The world changes empires rise and fall but some things like a good smoke and a risky bet remain constant. They're saying there will be volatility 'short term pressure' they call it. Well tell them this: pressure makes diamonds and I've never been afraid of a bit of pressure. Just like I told Alfie 'I have no limitations.'
A New Face at the Table
This Greg Abel he's the new player at the table. Inheriting a fortune a whole damn empire of businesses. They say he'll carry on Buffett's culture whatever that means. Probably more patience than I've ever had. He has big shoes to fill the kind that could bury a man. He’s sitting on $347 billion in cash. Enough to buy and sell half of Birmingham. Let's see if he has the guts to use it.
The Price of Loyalty
The shares are dipping they say? A 'Buffett premium' being extracted? Peaky Blinders pay a price for everything. But remember what I always say: 'Everyone's a whore Grace. We just sell different parts of ourselves.' The market will correct itself it always does. Those who panic lose. Those who hold their nerve they prosper. You know sometimes the market is no different than betting on a horse race you either win or you lose right?
The Fortress
Abel's talking about a 'fortress balance sheet.' Smart lad. You need a fortress to weather the storms and there are always storms coming. I've built my own fortress brick by bloody brick. He vows Berkshire won't be dependent on banks. Good. Banks are leeches. Better to have your own gold than to rely on somebody else's promise.
Dividends? Don't Make Me Laugh
Ackman's suggesting dividends? Giving money away? We should go back to our roots and start making investments buy up more properties start a new business. Now that sounds like a plan. The way things are going this world needs more investments. This ain't a charity this is business. They want Berkshire to start paying dividends after 60 years of not paying a dividend. What a joke. Is this some sort of charity or what?
Smoke and Mirrors
More disclosure they demand. Transparency. The world's gone soft. A little mystery keeps people on their toes. Makes them respect you. Like I told Mosley 'Already broken.' Besides what they don't know can't hurt them. So let them speculate let them worry. We'll be too busy counting our money. The stock might be under pressure? Well then it's time to buy more eh?
