Peaky Flyers?
Right so Archer Aviation thinks they're onto something big do they? Sold off 850 million dollars' worth of shares. That's a sum that could buy you a damn fine horse a distillery and still have enough left over for a few well placed 'donations' to the local constabulary. They claim it's for infrastructure some fancy AI software and a tie in with the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. Seems like a long shot but I've seen longer.
Strongest Balance Sheet? I've Heard That Before...
Their CEO Adam Goldstein – sounds like a name for a bookie doesn't it? – says they have the 'strongest balance sheet in the sector.' Well I've heard that tune before. 'Course most of the fellas who sang it were usually found floating face down in the Garrison's trough by morning. Still two billion in liquidity? That's not bad even for a Shelby Company Limited.
Trump Card or Fool's Gold?
And now apparently even Trump's getting in on it. Some executive order to push these flying machines. Politics eh? A game for those who can smile at the hangman. Whether it's a Trump card or fool's gold remains to be seen. Seems like everyone wants a piece of the future of flying.
Racing Joby: A Deadly Game
Archer's not alone in this game. Joby Aviation's nipping at their heels with Toyota's backing. It's a race alright. A race where the losers end up in the ground. They're all talking about reducing emissions and cutting down on traffic. Fine words but in my experience power is the only language anyone truly understands.
Paris and the Emirates
Archer's showing off their 'Midnight' contraption in Paris. Fancy that. Then they're off to the United Arab Emirates. One minute you're on top next minute you're in the mud. Remember always know where your enemies are. And sometimes they're closer than you think.
Always One More Deal...
So Archer's taking a gamble just like we always do. Will it pay off? Only time will tell. 'Whiskey's good proofing water. Tells you who's real and who isn't.' I'll be watching closely. Because in this world you either adapt or you die. And the Shelbys? We always adapt.
