The Gypsy's Prediction: A Gamble Worth Taking?
Right so this Evercore ISI led by some bloke called Frisch reckons Affirm's shares are about to do a bloody jig. Claims they're gonna jump up by nearly 40%. Forty percent! That's enough to make even Arthur consider a sensible investment for once. He says Affirm's got better risk management than the rest of those buy now pay later outfits. 'Call us crazy,' he says. Well Frisch you’re talking to a Shelby. Crazy is our bloody bread and butter.
When Traditional Credit Shuts the Door Opportunity Knocks
Frisch is saying that if the economy turns to custard – and let’s face it it usually does – the banks will slam the door in people's faces. Those same people will then need to keep the lights on so they'll use these buy now pay later schemes. Clever. Like using razor blades in your cap eh? He sees Affirm stepping up when the other side thinks it's not worth it.
Peaky Plunge: Buying Low When Others Flee
Apparently Affirm's shares have taken a right beating gone down the drain about 60%. Frisch is saying they're at rock bottom. Buying when others are selling that’s the Shelby way innit? It's like finding a bottle of whiskey in an empty pub – pure bloody gold. If you wait for perfect conditions you will never get anything done.
The Conservative Punt: Playing It Safe Shelby Style
Most of these analyst blokes are saying 'buy,' but Frisch is being a bit cautious with his price target. Which to be fair I appreciate. A bit of caution never hurt anyone especially when you're dealing with money. That being said he is still taking a punt at a substantial increase and any increase is a good thing in this market.
A Glimmer of Hope: Shares on the Rise
After Frisch's pronouncements the shares popped up a bit in premarket trading. A mere 1% but it’s a start isn't it? A small win like a fix before a big race. Mind you they’re still down a fair bit for the year so far. This could be a sign of good things to come. We take what we can get and we keep moving forward.
CNBC Pro LIVE at the NYSE: An Invitation to the Inner Circle
There's some gathering at the New York Stock Exchange. They call it CNBC Pro LIVE. Apparently it's a chance to rub shoulders with the clever clogs who think they know which way the wind's blowing. Experts they call themselves! I am more of an expert than most of them they are all smoke and mirrors. They are offering tickets and fancy cocktails. I would rather have a neat whiskey. Still it's good to know what the competition is up to. Information is power after all. So I shall go but on my terms.
