Reuters reports that Tesla that upstart automaker has ceased taking new orders for its Model S and Model X vehicles in the Middle Kingdom. A dark omen indeed! It seems the fiery breath of the trade war between the U.S. and China has singed Tesla's sales reducing them to a mere cinder.

The Dragon's breath it seems comes in the form of tariffs! China enraged by the actions of the man child known as Donald Trump has raised tariffs on U.S. imports to a scorching 125%! This means that those fancy Model S and Model X vehicles will cost Chinese consumers more than a soul offered to Quan Chi! Local EVs meanwhile are laughing as they burn rubber on the streets of Shanghai. It's like facing Sub Zero in the Netherrealm – a chilling prospect for Tesla!

But fear not Tesla fans! It appears Elon Musk's empire is not entirely crumbling. The company's Shanghai plant continues to churn out Model 3 and Model Y cars like a Shokan warrior crushes skulls. These vehicles are sold within China and exported to the Old World forming the bulk of Tesla's sales. It's a clever strategy minimizing the impact of Trump's fiery decrees. A true warrior adapts to survive...though perhaps not as stylishly as yours truly.

The numbers speak volumes! Only a paltry 1,553 Model X and 311 Model S cars were imported into China this year. Li Yanwei some analyst from the China Auto Dealers Association claims these models accounted for less than 0.5% of Tesla's total deliveries! It seems this trade war may be more of an inconvenience than a fatality. Still every blow counts in this endless tournament where 'Finish Him' is not just a suggestion but a marketing strategy!

BYD's Brutality!

The competition is fierce! BYD and other local manufacturers are nipping at Tesla's heels delivering devastating blows to its market share. Tesla's premium sedan and SUV models along with the much hyped Cybertruck have seen a 25% decline in deliveries. This is due to a lack of upgrades and perhaps more importantly that Musk fellow's questionable political ramblings. It seems some warriors prefer substance over spectacle.
