Golden Dome Dreams or Fool's Errand?
Alright folks Saul Goodman here your friendly neighborhood attorney and financial advisor (disclaimer: not a *real* financial advisor). Word on the street – or rather from some fancy pants analyst at Bernstein – is that even if Trump's 'Golden Dome' missile defense system is about as effective as say a screen door on a submarine defense stocks are still gonna make bank. Now I’ve seen some crazy schemes in my day but this one takes the cake. Like my mama always said 'If you can't make money the old fashioned way...cheat.' And in this case 'cheat' means raking in the dough even if the whole thing goes belly up. Beautiful!
Fail to Deliver? No Problem!
This Harned fella says and I quote 'Even if the system fails to deliver we expect elements to survive and for companies to profit off efforts even when they do not succeed.' Translation? We’re talking about a gravy train folks. A gravy train fueled by taxpayer dollars and the ever present fear of nuclear annihilation! It's like when I told Jesse "I once told a woman I was Kevin Costner and it worked because I believed it." You gotta believe in the con baby!
Everybody Gets a Slice (Except Maybe Your Wallet)
Apparently building this thing is gonna require everyone getting in on the action. Lockheed Martin Boeing Northrop Grumman the whole shebang. Harned even mentions Trump wanting to bring in 'nontraditional companies.' Who knows maybe even Los Pollos Hermanos could get a piece of the action? Now *that's* what I call diversification. Just imagine Heisenberg grade security for a missile defense system. No one would see that coming.
Three Years? More Like Forever!
Let's be real three years to build a fully functional impenetrable missile defense system? That's about as likely as me winning a Nobel Peace Prize. But hey who cares about deadlines when there's money to be made? Harned predicts that L3Harris Technologies and Boeing are looking especially juicy. Maybe I should invest. After all "Better Call Saul!" is about more than just legal representation; it's about financial freedom baby!
From $175 Billion to Infinity...and Beyond!
Trump's throwing around a cool $175 billion for this project but Harned thinks that's just the tip of the iceberg. I'm betting we're looking at 'Ozymandias' level spending here. And get this the analyst says defending the entire U.S. will be 'extreme' and constantly evolving kinda like the game yo! It's the cybersecurity dilemma all over again. Like defending against Kim Wexler's stare? Near impossible.
Attack is Cheaper Than Defense? Sounds Like My Divorce!
Harned even has the audacity to say that attacking is cheaper than defending. Well duh! Ask any lawyer. Or better yet ask my ex wives. This whole thing sounds like a recipe for endless spending continuous upgrades and ultimately a whole lotta money lining the pockets of defense contractors. And you know what that means? Saul Goodman approves… because opportunity knocks for everyone especially yours truly.
