Judgment Day for the 14th Amendment?

Okay people listen up. It's Sarah Connor and the world's gone even more sideways than usual. Apparently the guy running this reality show – Trump if you've been living under a rock which frankly sounds appealing – is still obsessed with kicking people out of the country even before they're born. He's back on his birthright citizenship kick claiming it's just for tourists looking for a free ride. I swear this is like trying to explain to a T 800 why you can't just 'borrow' a cop car. Some things just don't compute and this guy's understanding of the Constitution seems to be one of them. He actually said people are 'laughing at the suckers that we are!' I wouldn't laugh buddy. It's not very nice. The 14th Amendment was designed to give formerly enslaved people citizenship to this country but Trump says it only applies to them and that immigrants are scamming the USA. Right now the Supreme Court's dealing with this mess but not exactly how you think. They're not deciding on birthright citizenship itself but if some judge can block Trump's orders across the whole country. Basically can a judge stop him from being a total pain for everyone? It's like trying to stop Skynet with a strongly worded letter... but hey gotta start somewhere.

Vacationers vs. The Constitution: Who Wins?

He claims the 14th Amendment doesn't apply to 'people taking vacations.' Right because THAT'S how people become citizens. Look I've seen terminators disguised as humans. I've fought killer robots from the future. Trust me folks vacationing is NOT how you sneak into a country and change history. Give me a break. It has 'nothing to do with Illegal Immigration for people wanting to SCAM our Country'. The same people he's insulting are the ones doing the work no one else wants to do. They're the ones keeping this country from falling apart. If you ask me it is a bad idea to piss them off.

The Judges Strike Back (Sort Of)

So Trump tried to pull a fast one like always. He signed some executive order trying to rewrite the Constitution with a Sharpie (probably). But some judges bless their legalistic hearts said 'Hold on a minute buddy.' They blocked his order nationwide which really got under his skin. Now the Supreme Court has to decide if these judges can actually do that. Can they put the brakes on his executive roller coaster or is he free to crash and burn whenever he feels like it? It is like trying to reprogram the Terminator with a Commodore 64... probably not very effective but we have to try.

States vs. The 'Very Stable Genius'

More than 20 states and two cities are throwing their hats in the ring. They're saying Trump's order is bunk which let's be honest is putting it mildly. Also five pregnant non citizens and two immigrant advocacy groups are challenging his authority. You go ladies! That is real girl power. And you know what they say "the future is female."

Circuit Breaker: Courts to the Rescue?

So far three federal circuit courts have mostly sided with the judges who blocked Trump's order. Which means at least for now sanity has prevailed. But this ain't over. The Supreme Court is the final boss in this game and their decision will determine whether we can stop this whole mess before it spirals completely out of control. What they do or do not decide impacts all of us even if it is for the better... or for the worse.

No Fate But What We Make (Again)

This is a developing story so keep your eyes peeled. We're fighting for the future here people. A future where the Constitution actually means something where people aren't judged by where they were born and where the President of the United States doesn't sound like a malfunctioning robot spewing nonsense. Remember what I said: The future is not set. There is no fate but what we make for ourselves. So let's make sure this whole thing doesn't end with Skynet taking over. Because trust me a Trump led Skynet would be a real nightmare.

I hope the Supreme Court does the right thing. Our country is better than this.
