The Machines Are Coming...For Your Interest Rates!

Alright listen up. This isn't about some metal skeleton sent back from the future to terminate a waitress. This is about the economy and some guy who thinks he can control it like a joystick. Apparently Donald Trump has been chatting with some former Fed guy Kevin Warsh about maybe possibly getting rid of the current Fed chair Jerome Powell. Before his term is even up! What is this amateur hour? Doesn't this guy know you can't just go around terminating people you disagree with? (Unless they're a Terminator of course.)

No Fate But What We Make...Unless Trump's Involved

So Warsh (whoever that is) apparently told Trump not to be a complete moron and just let Powell finish his job. Powell's got until 2026 and Trump's already itching to pull the plug. Word is these chats happened at Mar a Lago. Seriously? Important economic decisions are being made where old guys in golf pants are sipping martinis? I need a weapon. And maybe a stiff drink. 'The future is not set. There is no fate but what we make for ourselves' unless a certain orange faced individual starts messing with the economy again!

Hasta la Vista Baby...To Economic Stability?

Trump's been whining about Powell not lowering interest rates. Like he's got some magical control panel that can fix everything. He even ranted about it on Truth Social (whatever THAT is) saying Powell's 'termination cannot come fast enough!' Yeah well Skynet's termination couldn't come fast enough either but look how that turned out. Remember? So I am not sure who's advising this guy but they need to find a new gig!

I'll Be Back...To Mess Things Up Again?

And it gets better! Apparently Trump is running around telling everyone that if he wants Powell gone he'll be gone 'real fast.' This guy has zero chill. He's treating the Fed chair like some contestant on a reality show. 'I'll be back' is all you need to know.

The White House: Denying Reality Since...Well Forever

When asked about this whole mess the White House just shrugged and pointed back to Trump's rantings. Shocking. I swear it's like dealing with a toddler who's just discovered the 'delete' button. At least Powell seems to know the president can't just fire him on a whim. Though with this guy you never know. He probably thinks he can just rewrite the Constitution with a Sharpie.

Even Elizabeth Warren Thinks This Is a Bad Idea

Here's the kicker: Even Elizabeth Warren who probably disagrees with Powell on everything thinks messing with the Fed's independence is a recipe for disaster. When Warren is on your side (well warning you against something dumb) you know you're in trouble. Destroying the Fed's independence? That's how you get Skynet people. Economic Skynet maybe even worse. 'It's in your nature to destroy yourselves.' This is a warning.
