Odin's Raven Brings Ill Tidings!
By Odin's beard! News reaches even my longhouse that Boeing that mighty builder of metal birds faces stormy weather. Their chieftain this Kelly Ortberg had grand plans for the Paris Air Show a gathering of merchants and sky farers. But alas fate like a fickle shieldmaiden has other ideas. A Dreamliner one of their winged steeds has fallen from the sky carrying souls to Valhalla sooner than expected. "Sometimes fate is kinder to men than they expect," I always say but I doubt those poor souls felt much kindness.
To Paris Or Not To Paris That is the Question!
Ortberg wise as he is has chosen to stay put tending to his wounded tribe instead of feasting in Paris. "My father once told me 'A worried man is a dangerous man,'" and clearly this is a time for worry. The crash shrouded in mystery like the depths of the North Sea casts a long shadow. Speculation flies like arrows in battle but Ortberg unlike some boasting berserker wisely bids us wait for answers. Let the investigators those modern day seers unravel the truth.
The Serpent Midgard Rears Its Head!
As if a fallen Dreamliner wasn't enough whispers of war reach even Paris. Israel and Iran two kingdoms locked in a dance of fire threaten to spill blood upon the earth. Flights are cancelled routes diverted like longships fleeing a kraken. "The gods are with us!" some cry but I say the gods are often busy causing chaos. These tensions like a venomous serpent coil around the air show threatening to constrict the flow of commerce.
Fear Not The Show Must Go On!
Despite the gloom the spirit of trade endures! Boeing Airbus and Embraer these giants of the sky still expect to ink deals aplenty. The hunger for new aircraft it seems knows no bounds. Like Vikings raiding distant shores airlines seek to expand their fleets ferrying warriors and merchants to every corner of the world. The wait for these flying marvels stretches long like the winters of my homeland.
The Price of Steel Takes Flight!
And what of the price you ask? Ah that is always the question isn't it? These metal birds do not come cheap! Tariffs and shortages like greedy tax collectors inflate the cost. Yet still they are bought. A new Airbus they say fetches a king's ransom! Even older models command high prices like seasoned warriors with many battles under their belts. One must choose wisely where to spend their treasures. After all "Power is always dangerous. It attracts the worst. And it corrupts."
The Jaws of the Future!
The seers predict a flurry of orders at the show a storm of signatures and handshakes. Even Air India despite their recent misfortune may yet rise again though perhaps not this time. The future of air travel like the threads of the Norns' tapestry is woven with both promise and peril. But fear not! For even in the face of tragedy and turmoil the spirit of innovation like a burning longship sails onward. "Life is a choice. You can choose fear or you can choose faith."
