Odin's Beard! Trump's Decree Slices Union Power Like a Viking Axe!

The Allfather's Decree!

By Odin's beard! I Ragnar Lothbrok hear tales from across the sea that are stranger than the whispers of the Seer! It seems this 'Trump,' a chieftain of sorts in the land called 'America,' has made a decree. He seeks to clip the wings of those who band together – these 'unions,' they call them – leaving many a federal worker feeling as lost as Bjorn Ironside in a forest thicket.

A Court's Grin!

The Aesir must be laughing! This 'court,' a body of wise men and women has sided with Trump allowing him to weaken these unions. They say it's for 'national security,' a term as slippery as Loki himself! I once declared 'Power is only given to those who dare to lower themselves and pick it up.' It seems Trump has lowered himself to snatch this power leaving the workers to wonder if their voices will be heard at all.

The Serpent's Tongue!

Ah the serpent's tongue of politics! This Trump claims these agencies – the 'Justice,' 'State,' and even the 'Veterans Affairs' – are too important for such… squabbles. He says they deal with matters of grave importance. But I Ragnar know that every man deserves his say even the lowliest thrall! Unless of course they plot against me. Then it's off to the blood eagle!

Shield Wall Divided!

This decision has split the shield wall! One judge appointed by Trump’s predecessor cries foul claiming ‘vague assertions’ are not enough to justify this power grab. It reminds me of the time Floki argued with me about the will of the gods but I followed my heart and that led me to Paris!

Lagertha's Fury!

I imagine Lagertha were she in this 'America,' would be sharpening her axe! This affects a great many workers they say – a vast host of people whose livelihoods are now less secure. Lagertha does not brook injustice. I would not want to be in Trump’s mead hall when she comes calling!

To Valhalla or the Picket Line!

So what is a Viking to make of all this? This Trump seeks to control to hold power tighter than a drowning man clutches driftwood. Will these workers stand idly by or will they fight for their rights? As I once said 'I prefer to regret things I have done rather than regret things I have not done.' Perhaps they will take this advice to heart. Only the gods know what the future holds… and maybe this Trump fellow if he’s as cunning as they say.
