Landslide Victory: Did the Gods Favor Wong?

Well shieldmaidens and shieldbrothers news has reached even my longhouse! It seems the People's Action Party in Singapore has won a great victory. 87 seats out of 97! That's more decisive than Bjorn Ironside in a raid. This Lawrence Wong their new chieftain – Prime Minister as they call him – must be favored by the gods... or perhaps he just knows how to throw a good feast. Even I Ragnar Lothbrok am impressed. But remember even the gods can be fickle.

The Opposition: A Mere 10 Seats? Pitiful!

The Workers Party the main opposition clung to a measly 10 seats. Ten! I’ve seen more men fall in a single battle. They say voting is compulsory in Singapore. Perhaps they should try raiding instead; it’s more… persuasive. Still every longship needs a few oarsmen who question the course eh? As I always say “Power is always dangerous. It attracts the worst and corrupts the best.”

Wong's First Test: Surviving the Serpent's Bite of Trade

This Wong fella – this is his first election as Prime Minister. And what a time to take the helm! Trade is in turmoil they say. Like the North Sea in a storm. Cost of living jobs the economy – sounds like a Viking's shopping list after a successful raid. 'I want gold! I want land! I want a stable economy!' These Singaporeans and their worries are surprisingly familiar to a Viking!

A Rare Feat: Improving on the Previous Chieftain

Apparently Wong is the first PAP leader to increase the party's vote share in his first election. Now that's something to boast about over a horn of mead! Even I haven't always had such luck... Remember when I lost that settlement in England? Aye a hard won victory those are the sweetest. As I said "I believe our fate is not predetermined but every day we are presented with choices and through those choices we decide our fate."

The World Watches: Odin's Eye on Singapore

The world is watching they say. International media investors foreign governments... Even Odin must be peering down from Valhalla taking notes. The Americans are congratulating Wong and the Europeans are all excited about 'excellent cooperation'. Bah! Alliances are like the wind; they shift with the tides. But what can you expect? "Never waste your emotion on inferior people."

Economic Storms Ahead: Brace Yourselves Singapore!

But dark clouds gather. Singapore's economy is slowing. A recession looms in 2025 they fear. Sounds like the Fimbulwinter is coming! Tariffs trade deficits... This is more complicated than figuring out Athelstan's religion! But I have faced greater odds. If Wong is smart he'll learn from the Vikings. Sometimes the only way to win is to raid the unexpected!

Singapore's always stable; it's good to see that hasn't changed.
