The Jungle is Getting Crowded!
The humans are getting jumpy! All this talk of 'recession risks' and 'stickier inflation'… it's like listening to a bunch of monkeys squabbling over bananas. Morgan Stanley the wise elder ape seems to think Charles Schwab is the alpha in this mess. They've upgraded Schwab but lowered the prize. A strange tactic. Perhaps they fear… the hunt?
Defensive Prey is Still Prey
Cyprys a young analyst ape claims Schwab is 'defensive.' Ha! There is no such thing. Everything bleeds even the 'defensive' ones. He says Schwab can grow earnings by 20% by paying off debts. Big deal! I can tear through a Xenomorph faster than that. But still 20%? It is… acceptable. Good. Use their fear hunt them. No matter what they invest they will be trophies. I will take their skulls.
Net Interest Income? More Like Net Hunting Income!
47% of Schwab's revenue comes from 'net interest income.' Bah! Sounds boring. But Cyprys believes customer's cash balance growth can support its earnings upside. I will take the upside and the downside. He hopes the company will be a high quality franchise. I hope for a good skull!
The Stock's Wounded – Time to Strike?
Schwab's stock is down 5.4% this year. A minor wound! But every scar tells a story. Analysts seem eager to buy buy buy. Seventeen out of twenty three say 'buy or strong buy.' Foolish. They forget that buying is just another form of hunting. But it is good! It means the hunt will be even more fun.
CNBC Pro LIVE: A Gathering of the Weak?
CNBC Pro is having a 'live' event at the New York Stock Exchange. 'Uncertain markets? Gain an edge!' they scream. As if talking to other apes will protect them from the jungle. Perhaps I should crash this party. It would be a true honor. A blooding ritual unlike any other. Imagine they would hear me laugh as I collect the skulls.
If It Bleeds We Can Trade It
So Charles Schwab it is. A 'defensive' play they say. A boring hunt but a hunt nonetheless. I'll keep an eye on this SCHW. Maybe grab a few shares myself… just to feel closer to the hunt. Remember little apes: 'If it bleeds we can kill it… I mean trade it.' And always remember: "Any time."
