What's All This Fuss About Then?

Right then! So I was having a nice cup of tea with Teddy you know and reading my newspaper (upside down naturally because that's how the Queen reads it!) when I saw this article. Apparently this big company called Adobe – they make those picture things that look like me after I've tried to bake a cake – has put money into another company. This one's called Synthesia. Sounds like something you'd find in a dentist's chair doesn't it?

A Eye A Eye Captain!

Turns out Synthesia makes video people out of computers. Real ones! Well not real as in Teddy real but those A Eye things. Imagine that! I could have an A Eye Mr. Bean doing all my chores! Although knowing my luck it would probably just get stuck in a bucket or try to paint the flat with a firework. "Accidents will happen!" as I always say...usually after I've caused one.

Making Movies the Lazy Way?

Apparently all these important business types are using these A Eye people to make their videos. They say it's faster. Faster than what? Than me trying to parallel park my Mini? Than waiting for a bus on a Bank Holiday? Seems a bit… cheating doesn't it? Although if I could make a video of me winning the lottery without actually buying a ticket well that would be "very good!".

Adobe's Big Gamble

Now Adobe being a very clever sort has decided to invest in Synthesia. They must think these computer people are going to be the next big thing. Makes you wonder doesn't it? Will they replace real actors? Will I be out of a job? Oh dear! Maybe I should start practicing my A Eye impression. *Sticks tongue out and wiggles ears*. Is that good? Teddy doesn't seem impressed.

Money Money Money! Always Sunny!

This Synthesia company is making lots of money apparently. They call it "annual recurring revenue". Sounds very important doesn't it? They made 100 million of whatever they are's but they're still losing money. Like me when I try to fix the plumbing. "It's a knockout!"... for my bank account.

Teddy's Verdict?

So what does all this mean? Well I'm not entirely sure. But I think it means things are changing. And change… well change is like finding a sprout in your Christmas dinner. Unexpected unwelcome and likely to end up hidden under the tablecloth. But who knows? Maybe I can get Adobe to make an A Eye Teddy! Now that would be "brilliant!"
