A Most Unsettling Interruption
Right so there I was having a nice cup of tea with Teddy when I saw it on the telly! This Senator Alex Padilla a proper grown up with important jobs mind you got a bit too close for comfort at a lady's press conference. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem she was talking all serious like about deporting people from California. A bit like when I tried to paint my flat and ended up painting myself – a right mess!
The Push and Shove Debacle
Padilla it seems wasn't having any of it. He barged in all guns blazing asking questions nobody wanted to answer. Before you could say 'Bob's your uncle,' he was being dragged out by the police! They pushed him they shoved him just like when I'm trying to parallel park my Mini! "I am Senator Alex Padilla!" he cried but they weren't listening. It was like when I try to explain myself to Mrs. Wicket after a 'minor' incident – utterly pointless.
Handcuffs and Hallways: A Tragic Comedy
Next thing you know the poor chap is on the floor being handcuffed! In a hallway no less! A voice even yelled about no recording allowed. Honestly it's like they thought he was stealing candy from a baby. Senator Padilla later said all serious faced that if they treat him like this imagine what they do to the little people. A bit like if I was a famous painter.
The Blame Game Extravaganza
Now the Department of Homeland Security is saying it was all Padilla's fault. They say he was being disrespectful and didn't comply with orders. They even thought he was an attacker! Can you imagine? A senator an attacker! It's like mistaking Teddy for a real bear – utterly ridiculous! Though I must admit Teddy can be quite fierce when someone touches my Marmite sandwiches.
A Civilized Tea Party (Sort Of)
Believe it or not after all the pushing and shoving Secretary Noem and Senator Padilla had a 15 minute meeting. Imagine that! Like Mrs. Wicket inviting me for tea after I accidentally flooded her flat. Diplomacy it seems can work wonders – sometimes. But even after that there was a lot of political shouting! Like when I tried to direct traffic.
Outrage and Echoes of Bean
Everyone's gone bonkers about it! Senator Schumer is sick to his stomach the Mayor of Los Angeles is outraged and the Governor of California is warning everyone what they might do next. It's all a bit of a kerfuffle really. Makes you wonder doesn't it? Maybe a nice cup of tea and a sit down is what everyone needs. Or perhaps just perhaps a bit of Mr. Bean style problem solving. Though knowing my luck I'd probably end up in handcuffs too! Oh dear...
