Waah! Trouble is Coming!
Okay okay calm down everyone! Jackie Chan is here! But even I with all my years of kicking and punching can't ignore this scary news about President Trump and his tariffs. These Wall Street guys they're saying his 'unexpectedly aggressive' moves are like a bad guy in a movie – they could stop the world's growth in its tracks! It's like when I'm fighting a whole gang and they suddenly pull out…taxes! Suddenly even Jackie Chan feels the pressure!
Recession?! That Sounds Worse Than Stepping on a Lego!
Apparently if these tariffs keep going up it could cause a recession. A RECESSION! That's even scarier than facing Benny 'The Jet' Urquidez! These economists are saying people will buy less businesses won't invest and people will lose their jobs. It's like a domino effect but instead of cool stunts it's all bad news! Even the optimistic view is just a 'slowdown.' Nobody wants a slow down!
Goldman Sachs! More Like 'Uh Oh Bad News Inc.'!
These guys at Goldman Sachs they're really worried! They've raised their recession forecast TWICE! Now they're saying there's almost a 50/50 chance of a recession. That's higher than my chances of breaking a bone on set! They even have a 'Countdown to Recession.' Sounds like a bad action movie title eh? But this is no laughing matter! *Looks serious adjusts glasses*.
Labor Pains! Uh Oh!
And it's not just the tariffs! Apparently the labor market is already weak. This guy Dario Perkins says that if companies start firing people it could start a 'dangerous reflexive process.' It's like when I'm trying to stop a runaway train and suddenly the brakes fail! Uh oh! This is trouble!
The Fed! Can They Save the Day!?
So everyone is looking at the Federal Reserve like they're the only ones who can pull off the ultimate stunt to save the day. The head honcho Jerome Powell is saying they'll 'wait and see'. It's like when I'm facing a giant and I wait to see if there is a ladder to climb! But everyone is expecting them to cut interest rates soon. Will they be fast enough? Will they be strong enough!?
Jackie's Advice!?
So what does Jackie Chan think? Well I'm not an economist! I'm just a guy who likes to kick butt and make people laugh! But I think everyone needs to calm down work together and find a solution. 'Don't be afraid to make mistakes but try not to make the same mistake twice,' you know? And maybe just maybe we can avoid this recession. Otherwise you might need Jackie Chan to start selling dim sum to make ends meet! Haha! *Strikes a pose then winces* My back... I'm getting too old for this...
