AI To The Rescue? Or Am I Seeing Things?!
Hello everyone! It's Jackie! So I hear everyone's talking about this AI thingy for resumes and LinkedIn! Sounds like some crazy sci fi movie right? But hey even I Jackie Chan need a little help sometimes… like remembering my lines after a big stunt! They say tools like ChatGPT and Grammarly can help you with grammar and stuff. Back in my day we just used a good old fashioned dictionary and a lot of charades! Now kids use AI! Times are changing faster than I can climb a building!
LinkedIn Kung Fu: The Premium Edition!
Apparently LinkedIn has its own AI built in if you have the fancy premium version! It's like having a stunt double for your profile! But if you're like me and prefer doing things the old fashioned way or just don't want to pay fear not! There are other ways to use AI says these experts. They have all these big words but basically you can use AI to write your 'About' section. Just feed it your resume some emails even some articles you wrote… then tell it to make you sound super cool and professional! Like telling your friend to make you look good before going on stage!
Voice? Personality? Is It Me Or A Robot?!
Amanda Augustine from TopResume says to give AI your resume and writing samples to 'capture your personality.' But be careful! You don't want to sound like everyone else! It's like in a fight scene – you gotta have your own style! I don’t want to read about Jackie Chan and it's just a robot writing it! Be yourself! You are the star.
Keyword Chaos! Is It Real?
Then there's the whole keyword thing. Apparently you can ask AI what keywords to use for your role or industry. It's like asking a fortune teller what punches to throw! But it also helps your job application and resume reach the right people. Amanda says her favorite is to have AI edit your work! If you're not confident with words let the AI polish them! But… again… check it! Just like when I check my stunt equipment before jumping off a building!
Double Check! Triple Check! Trust No One!
Phoebe Gavin warns 'Make sure anything AI generated must sound authentically you!' This is so important! AI tools make mistakes! They get things wrong! It's like trusting a rookie to drive the getaway car! 'You're going to have to double check that whatever it suggests is actually an accurate representation of your skills and your background,' says Amanda. If it sounds like bullcrap change it! Keep it real! Keep it you!
Unique is the Way to Go!
And remember everyone else is using these AI tools too! So don’t be the 50th 'Jennifer' with the same boring paragraph! You need to stand out! Be unique! Be original! Be you! Like in my movies I always try to find a new way to use a ladder or a chair to kick butt! So go out there and make your resume and profile as unique as a Jackie Chan fight scene! Hahaha! And don't forget to stay healthy drink plenty of water and never stop learning! Bye bye!
