Now sources (who always seem to be 'familiar with the matter' – probably watching too much bloody TV) are saying no deal is imminent. Imminent? What does that even mean? Are they just standing around like lemons waiting to be squeezed? Semiconductor companies want to bolster their automotive division. Translation: they need Ambarella's chips to make their cars less like a rusty old banger and more like a bloody Ferrari.

And of course the vultures are circling. Private equity firms have already stuck their beaks in. 'Ooh let's buy this company strip it bare and sell it for a profit!' Honestly it's enough to make you sick. They wouldn't know good food from a dog's dinner!

Ambarella based in Santa Clara California (where else?) makes chips for edge artificial intelligence. That's code for things like electronic mirrors and self driving assistance systems. So basically the stuff that stops you from driving your car into a bloody wall. Their chips better be bloody good or people are going to end up as roadkill.

Shares have been languishing this year (down 18% since January 1st). No wonder they want to sell! I wouldn't touch those stocks with someone else's hands. With a market cap of $2.6 billion (USD) someone is betting this dog can hunt.
