Giggity Goo! A New Name in Town!
Alright alright alright! Quagmire here reporting live from Quahog... Wait no Philly! Seems the Wells Fargo Center home to the Flyers and 76ers is getting a makeover and not the kind where you wake up with a questionable tattoo. They're slapping the Xfinity Mobile name on it. Yes sir! Starting this September it's the Xfinity Mobile Arena baby! This deal lasts until the 2030 2031 season. No word on the moolah involved but I bet it's enough to buy a lifetime supply of… well you know. Giggity!
Comcast Gets Its Giggle On
Comcast Spectacor the big boss of the Flyers and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment the 76ers' daddy are behind this. Apparently Comcast is also getting naming rights to a new arena opening in 2031 2032. Double giggity! Sounds like someone's trying to score some major points. And who can blame them? As Peter Griffin always says “Freakin’ sweet!”
Wi Fi and Maybe More!
This ain't just about a new sign folks. The arena's getting a Wi Fi upgrade courtesy of Xfinity Mobile. Free Wi Fi for Xfinity Mobile customers! Maybe I can finally stream those videos without buffering. You know the ones… for research purposes of course. Giggity!
Mobile Mania!
Word on the street is Comcast is focusing on their mobile business. They added a whopping 323,000 mobile lines in the first quarter! That's a lot of phones! It's their new honey pot especially since their broadband business is slowing down. Guess they're saying 'Alright!' to the mobile market.
Cable Companies in the Mobile Game: A Risky Proposition?
Comcast like other cable companies is trying to compete with the big boys like AT&T and Verizon. Slapping their name on a big arena is a smart move. Gotta get that brand recognition up you know? As Mort Goldman would say “Oh dear!” I hope they know what they are doing!
Philly Fans Get Hooked Up
Steve Croney from Comcast says Philly fans are passionate and Xfinity Mobile's Wi Fi will give them an “unrivaled experience.” Maybe that means they can finally upload those videos of me after a few too many… Nah just kidding! Or am I? Giggity! Oh and by the way Comcast owns NBCUniversal the parent company of CNBC. So you know conflict of interest? Meh who cares! Bring on the giggity!
