Holy Crap! A Salary Cap in Baseball?
Well hot dog! Looks like Major League Baseball is finally thinking about getting with the times and slapping a salary cap on things. It's like they're finally realizing that some teams are richer than Carter has pills. As your resident expert on all things...stimulating I gotta say this could get interesting. Giggity!
Not So Fast Says the Players Union!
But hold your horses! The MLB Players Association is as against this as I am against a cold shower before a date. They're clinging to that 'free market' like I cling to... well you get the picture. Apparently they think a cap is just a way to keep the little guys from getting a piece of the action. Reminds me of the time I tried to split a pizza with Joe Swanson. 'Giggity'? More like 'Gimme that!'.
Lockout Looming! Giggity?
So what happens when these two sides are as far apart as say me and a commitment? A lockout baby! December 2026 could be a real bummer for baseball fans. No games just a bunch of millionaire players and billionaire owners arguing over money. It's like a dysfunctional family Thanksgiving except instead of cranberry sauce they're fighting over cold hard cash! I feel like i want to yell 'Alright! Alright! Alright!' when I'm just thinking about this possible lockout.
Is the Spending Disparity Ruining the Game? Giggity?
Commissioner Manfred is whining about how some teams are spending more than others. No duh! The Mets are throwing money around like I throw around... well let's just say they're spending a lot. Meanwhile the Marlins are pinching pennies like Peter Griffin at a salad bar. Manfred says it's not fair to the little guys and he might have a point. But hey that's baseball baby! Unless you are Herbert. That is 'That is indeed baseball!'.
More Parity More Fans More Giggity?
The bigwigs are saying that more parity will lead to more fans. Makes sense right? If every team has a shot at winning everyone's happier. But let's be honest some of us just like seeing the rich teams throw their weight around. It's like watching a really expensive train wreck. Which is not what I said when I saw Loretta on our honeymoon... Giggity!
RSN Troubles: Giggity No!
One of the big problems is that some teams make way more money from local TV deals than others. The Dodgers are swimming in cash while the Marlins are scraping by. MLB wants to sell more national packages which is great but some experts don't think they'll get as much as the NBA or NFL. So a salary cap might be the only way to even things out. Unless that is I win the Lottery Jackpot this week. Giggity!

The players are overpaid anyway.
