Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates you never know what you're gonna get. Turns out tariffs are kinda like that too! This Fed report it's like a box of reports and this one says businesses are trying to pass on the extra costs from President Trump's tariffs. It's like when Bubba Blue Shrimp Company tried to charge extra for shrimp cocktail but people weren't too happy 'bout it.

Stupid is as Stupid Does (When it Comes to Trade)

These companies they're gettin' letters from suppliers sayin' prices are goin' up up up! They're tryin' not to eat the costs but they ain't sure if folks will pay more. Remember Lieutenant Dan? He always said 'That's about the dumbest idea I ever heard Gump.' Well maybe these tariffs ain't so dumb but they sure are makin' things complicated.

Uncertainty? I've Seen a Thing or Two

The Fed folks are sayin' things are 'little changed,' but this 'uncertainty' about trade is hangin' around like Jenny always showin' up and leavin'. Prices are goin' up but folks ain't sure if they wanna buy more. It's like tryin' to sell shrimp in the desert – not a lotta demand.

We Got to Shorten the Pricing Horizons!

Some companies are addin' 'tariff surcharges,' which sounds fancy or 'shortening pricing horizons' to deal with these tariffs. They're hopin' to pass the buck to us folks. But some businesses especially the ones that deal with regular folks are havin' a tough time. Remember when Bubba said 'Shrimpin's the best little business in the world'? Well right now shrimpin's lookin' a little less best.

New York New York...So Good They Taxed it Twice!

In New York things are gettin' pricey! Food insurance even buildin' stuff is costin' more. And some tech company lost business in Canada which is a bummer. Tourist folks are bookin' less rooms which is not good business. It's like when I invested in Apple – I didn't know what I was doin' but it turned out alright. Maybe these companies will get lucky too!

DOGE Ate My Homework!

And get this this Elon Musk guy (not sure who that is!) and this 'Department of Government Efficiency' are layin' off government workers. Folks need to provide for their families! Remember Mama said 'Life is a box of chocolates Forrest. You never know what you're gonna get.' Well these folks got a pink slip. Even food banks are gettin' cut which ain't right at all.
