Mama Always Said 'Stupid is as Stupid Does,' But Policy Changes are More Confusing!

Well folks let me tell ya this here news about international students and their visas is kinda like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. Seems like the Department of Homeland Security they done fixed things up for some students who had their papers took away. College fellas are happy 'bout it sayin' it's good for learnin' and all. But this whole thing reminds me of when I was chasin' Jenny. One minute she's there next minute she's gone. This Trump fella done stirred things up so much these here students are thinkin' twice 'bout comin' to America. It's like me tryin' to play ping pong against that Chinese fella; just when you think you got it figured out things change!

Run Forrest Run... Away From Uncertainty!

This fella from The Princeton Review Robert Franek he says this whole mess is clearin' up by May 1st which is like the big day when everyone picks their school. He says havin' students from all over is good for schools 'cause they got different stories to tell. And like Bubba Blue always said about shrimp they’re mighty important to the economy too. But this Lakhani fella says all this changin' stuff is makin' students nervous. He says it’s like tryin' to hit a baseball when the pitcher keeps switchin' arms. These students are lookin' at Canada and the UK now. Like Jenny runnin' off with different fellas they're lookin' for somethin' steady.

We Was Always Takin' Care of Each Other: International Students and the Economy

Now I ain't no math whiz but they say there's over a million of these international students here mostly from India and China. That's a lot of folks! And they spend a whole lotta money like $43.8 billion which is more shrimp than Bubba ever dreamed of catchin'. This other fella Christopher Rim he says these students are good for the money but they can also be kinda loud like when Lieutenant Dan was yellin' at the sky. But he also says America is still the place to be for the best schools. Like when I was playin' football we had the best team in the South! Everyone wants to be where the best is.

Like Peas and Carrots: Families in Hong Kong Still Love American Schools

This Mr. Rim he was just over in Hong Kong talkin' to all sorts of families. Even though things are kinda crazy they still wanna send their kids here. It's like me and Jenny we were always meant to be together even when we were apart. These families they know America's got the best schools like Harvard and Yale and they still dreamin' 'bout sendin' their kids there. Even after all the shrimp business.

Stupid Is As Stupid Does But Policy Changes Who Knows?

So what does all this mean? Well it means life is complicated like that time I was runnin' across the country. You just gotta keep goin' keep learnin' and hope for the best. And maybe just maybe things will work out in the end. And if they don't well as Mama always said 'Life is like a box of chocolates...'

That's All I Have To Say About That

And that's all I have to say about that. Now if you'll excuse me I gotta go check on my shrimp boat. Maybe I'll see some of these international students out there one day catchin' shrimp with me. You never know!

They're trying to pick and choose who is 'economically advantageous?' That's nuts.
