Mama always said life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're gonna get. Well turns out Germany got Friedrich Merz! They had this election back in February and Mr. Merz he’s like a determined fella kinda like me when I was running' on that football field. His party the Christian Democratic Union and the Christian Social Union they got the most votes. But getting to be Chancellor? That's a whole different ball game.

First Time's a Charm? Nope!

So they had this vote thingy right? Mr. Merz he needed 316 votes to win. But uh oh first try? Not enough. It was like me trying to figure out advanced math – a little tricky! I remember Lieutenant Dan yelling at me but Mr. Merz didn't have anyone yelling just waiting to get enough votes.

Second Verse Same as the First... But Actually Different!

Then they had another go at it a second vote! And wouldn't you know it like Bubba with his shrimp Mr. Merz finally caught his prize. He got 325 votes! 'And that's all I have to say about that,' as I am so fond of saying.

Coalition? Sounds Like My Shrimp Company!

Now Mr. Merz's party they are like peas and carrots with another party the Social Democratic Party. Together they are gonna make a team like me and Bubba planning to catch shrimp! They signed this agreement talking about changes to taxes and stuff like how much money folks get paid. I wonder if they talked about shrimp?

Dax Attack…Or Not!

Now I don't know much about stocks but I heard tell the German Dax stock market was a bit wobbly. But after Mr. Merz won it got a little better. Must be that 'new leader' smell or something! It was still a little down but not as much. I guess even stocks like a new boss kind of like when I met Jenny.
