Abercrombie's Ups and Downs: Like a Box of Chocolates, You Never Know What You're Gonna Get!

Mama Always Said Life is Like a Box of Abercrombie's...

Well howdy folks! Forrest Gump here reporting on something called 'Abercrombie & Fitch.' Now I ain't no Wall Street expert but even I can see this is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're gonna get! Seems these fellas had a bit of a kerfuffle with some 'tariffs.' That's like taxes but for stuff coming from other countries like China. And apparently they expect it to cost 'em 50 million dollars. That's a whole lotta Bubba Gump Shrimp y'all!

Running Up That Hill (and the Stock Market)

Now get this even though they said they gonna make less money their shares went up like a rocket! Up more than 15% can you believe it? It's like when I just started running and didn't stop for three years two months fourteen days and sixteen hours. People started followin' me and Abercrombie’s shares were doin' the same thing. They must be doin' somethin' right like playin' ping pong or maybe they just got lucky. They beat what folks on Wall Street thought and even gave out better ideas on how much money they gonna bring in it is like runnin up that hill.

One Thing About Abercrombie They Keep on Truckin'

These Abercrombie folks they're expectin' to make less money than they thought. Like 'stead of makin' $10.40 to $11.40 per share now they thinkin' more like $9.50 to $10.50. That's still a good chunk of change but it ain't as much as before. I guess that's like when Bubba died and I had to keep the shrimp business goin'. You just gotta keep on truckin' even when things get tough.

Hollister's Got the Wind at Its Back

Seems like one of their brands called 'Hollister,' is doin' real good. Their sales jumped up 22%! Maybe they got some magic formula like Jenny's lovin'. The other brand 'Abercrombie,' well it ain't doin' so hot. Sales went down 4%. But the CEO Fran Horowitz she says they gonna fix it. She’s just gotta make sure to watch out for them dresses that are selling like hot cakes. Kinda like when I played ping pong for the All American team everyone wanted to play like me. Hollister is like that right now.

Shrimpin' Ain't Easy and Neither is Avoiding Tariffs

These tariffs are makin' things tricky. Abercrombie's chief money man Robert Ball says they tryin' to find ways around it without makin' stuff cost more for folks. They're lookin' for cheaper ways to make their clothes and buyin' stuff from different places. Before they got most of their stuff from China but now it's mostly from Vietnam Cambodia and India. Makes ya wonder if they gotta start a Bubba Gump Shrimp in them countries too.
