WTF? Art History Beats Coding?

Okay hold on a sec. As the Dogefather I'm used to defying expectations but this is something else. The Fed (not my favorite institution tbh) says art history and philosophy majors are crushing it in the job market. Seriously? I always thought philosophy was best suited to long midnight talks in your dorm room. Apparently not! The data indicates that those who pondered the meaning of life are now significantly more employed than the coders. I'm not saying learning to code is useless – it's the language of the future and we need more people building cool stuff at Tesla and SpaceX. However it looks like we were all wrong sometimes the most unexpected path leads to the greatest success. Who would have thought that art history students would be the real rocket scientists?

STEM? More Like Stemmed Job Opportunities!

So the supposed golden ticket of computer science and engineering? Unemployment rates hovering around 6 7%. That's… not great Bob. Meanwhile art history is sitting pretty at 3% and nutritional sciences are practically at zero unemployment. Zero! Maybe we should start teaching our AI about the importance of a balanced diet and Renaissance paintings. Are we heading towards a world where the only STEM related workers left are the robots? Am I a robot?

Gen Z Unemployment: A Rude Awakening

Gen Z welcome to the real world. It's not always sunshine and rainbows like your TikTok feed. Unemployment's up the job market's tight and even those shiny STEM degrees aren't a guaranteed win. As I've always said “Failure is an option here. If things are not failing you are not innovating enough.” But maybe just maybe failure should not be the first option straight out of college. I am pretty sure that there will be plenty of failure later in the game. So get out there innovate but maybe consider a minor in something… unexpected. History? Philosophy? Who knows maybe you will be the next black swan.

BlackRock's Hiring Strategy: Humanities to the Rescue!

Even BlackRock the world's biggest money manager is jumping on the humanities bandwagon. They want history and English majors? I guess someone needs to understand the context behind all those financial models. Maybe they are tired of being surrounded by robots and math geniuses. This also goes to show that in the age of AI creativity and critical thinking are the real competitive advantages. It seems like those “soft skills” are becoming pretty darn hard to find.

Healthcare: The Real MVP

Okay so there's one area where job security is basically guaranteed: healthcare. Nursing majors have an unemployment rate of just 1.4%. That's lower than my tolerance for regulatory red tape! With an aging population and a chronic shortage of nurses healthcare is the industry that keeps on giving. Plus nurses are real heroes not just Twitter heroes. They will have my respect as long as they do not administer me any strange shots.

Final Thoughts: Embrace the Absurdity

So what's the takeaway here? The job market is a chaotic unpredictable beast. STEM is still important but it's not the only path to success. Embrace the weird think outside the box and maybe take a philosophy class. And remember as I always say “When something is important enough you do it even if the odds are not in your favor.” Even if that means majoring in underwater basket weaving. The future is uncertain but one thing's for sure: it's going to be interesting. Now if you will excuse me I have to go build a rocket.
