Another Day Another Corporate Nightmare

Alright people listen up. This Ripley reporting. Seems like Google's having a bad day – and by bad I mean Xenomorph in the vent shaft level bad. Remember the Company? Always cutting corners always for profit? Well Google's getting a taste of what happens when you get too big for your britches. They’re heading back to court on September 22nd for the remedies trial regarding their ad tech shenanigans. Apparently a certain Judge Brinkema isn't too thrilled with their 'willfully acquiring and maintaining monopoly power.' Color me unsurprised.

Google: The Digital Xenomorph?

Judge Brinkema says Google tied its publisher ad server and ad exchange together for over a decade like some kind of symbiotic nightmare. "For over a decade Google has tied its publisher ad server and ad exchange together through contractual policies and technological integration which enabled the company to establish and protect its monopoly power in these two markets," the Judge wrote. Sounds like they were incubating a digital Xenomorph and now it's burst out of the chest of the internet economy. Fantastic.

Deja Vu All Over Again: Search Monopoly Smackdown

And get this – last month another judge a Judge Mehta already ruled they're a monopoly in internet search. "After having carefully considered and weighed the witness testimony and evidence the court reaches the following conclusion: Google is a monopolist and it has acted as one to maintain its monopoly," U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta wrote in his ruling about the search case. It's like watching the same acid bleeding alien get blown out of the airlock twice. This is the most significant antitrust ruling since that Microsoft case back when I was probably still defrosting from my last cryogenic nap. "I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."

AI Arms Race: Google vs. The World

But wait there's more! While they're busy fighting off the legal eagles Google's also got to contend with a whole new generation of AI upstarts. We're talking about OpenAI Anthropic Perplexity – all backed by the likes of Microsoft and Amazon. It's like they're facing a swarm of Chestbursters while trying to argue they didn't deliberately create the Alien Queen. Talk about multitasking!

Of course Google didn't 'immediately respond to a request for comment.' Probably too busy shredding documents or trying to reprogram their algorithms. Sounds like the Company all over again. Honestly you'd think they'd learn from past mistakes. But some corporations you just can't reason with. They don't feel pity or remorse or fear. And they absolutely will not stop ever until you are dead!
