Of Course This Means War!

Eh what's up doc? Seems like the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's been playing a little game of hide and seek only this time Congress is the one doing the seeking and DHS is doing the hiding. They've slapped some new rules on Congressional visits to immigration enforcement field offices. I tell ya it's enough to make a rabbit pull his ears out! Apparently some Democratic lawmakers have been getting the old 'access denied' treatment and even a 'you're under arrest' greeting. Rude I say rude!

ICE ICE Maybe Not So Nice

Now get this: ICE (that's Immigration and Customs Enforcement for you city slickers) thinks they're the head honcho when it comes to deciding who gets a tour of their detention centers. They've got "sole discretion," which sounds a bit like 'my way or the highway' to this bunny. Makes ya wonder what they're trying to keep under wraps doesn't it? Could it be...carrots gone wild?!

The Law? What's the Law?

According to the rule book DHS isn't supposed to stop Congress critters from waltzing into any facility used to hold our alien pals. No notice needed! But hold on to your cotton tails folks 'cause DHS is saying that rule doesn't apply to ICE field offices. Sneaky huh? Now ICE wants Congress to give them a 72 hour heads up before dropping by. Talk about changing the rules mid game! It reminds me of the time Yosemite Sam tried to make me play by his rules...Didn't end well for him I tell ya!

Trump's Immigration Hustle

And let's not forget the big cheese Donald Trump. He's been on a mission to deport millions including those seeking asylum and even international students with certain opinions. Makes a rabbit wonder if maybe he just doesn't like carrots! All this hooey is giving me a serious case of the jitters. 'I gotta get outta here!' as I always say.

Unreviewable? Is That Even a Word?

Now here's the real kicker: ICE is claiming they have "sole and unreviewable discretion" to deny or cancel a visit for any reason. Unreviewable? Sounds like something Elmer Fudd would come up with! They claim they'll make every effort to comply with the law but something smells fishy to this long eared fella. Like a skunk at a garden party!

Trouble Brewing in the Carrot Patch

Some Democratic politicians have been facing off with ICE agents at detention centers. One lawmaker LaMonica McIver is even being prosecuted over a scuffle at an immigration detention center. They've also arrested some local Democratic politicians. Makes you wonder if someone needs a good carrot lashing. What a maroon! It's enough to make you wanna dig a hole and disappear...but not me I've got news to report!
