Eh, What's Up, Stock Market Doc? S&P 500 on a Winning Streak!

Of Course It's a Great Week I'm Here

What's up doc? This is Bugs Bunny reporting live from… well wherever there's a carrot and a decent stock ticker. The market's been jumpin' like me avoiding Elmer Fudd! The S&P 500? Up 1.6% on Friday heading for its ninth straight win. Nine! That's almost as many carrots as I eat in a day. They say it's the longest winning streak since '04. Remember '04? Good times good times...mostly because I was still outsmarting Yosemite Sam.

Labor Data? Sounds Like Hard Work!

Apparently some “labor data” came out looking better than expected. Something about nonfarm payrolls in April. That’s good news folks! Means fewer folks are sayin' “Ehh what's up with this unemployment line?” Plus it’s squashed those pesky recession rumors flatter than Wile E. Coyote after another Acme product malfunction. Economically sensitive groups like financials and industrials are doin' the jitterbug while the defensive sectors… well they’re probably just playin' it safe like Porky Pig trying to order a sandwich.

Big Tech Bigger Earnings (Maybe)

Apple and Amazon dropped their quarterly earnings. They tried to impress but even I wasn't entirely fooled. Apple's down almost 4%. Seems investors are a bit… *displeased*. Amazon’s up a smidge though. Go figure! Even with Jeff Bezos planning to sell a whole lotta shares. But don't worry it's probably nothing doc! Just Bezos thinning out his wallet so he could fit more carrots in it. He does loves his vegetables!

Winners: Microsoft Meta and…Honeywell? Rhapsody in Blue!

Time to see who’s been raking in the dough like me finding a whole field of carrots! Microsoft's up 11.7% thanks to its cloud business. Cloud schmloud – as long as it rains money right? Meta's up 10.4% after Zuckerberg told everyone not to worry about those nasty tariffs. It's like saying “Don't worry Elmer Fudd won't catch me!” Famous last words Zuck! And Honeywell? Up 7.7%! I didn’t even know what Honeywell was until now...but apparently they're making good carrot juice (probably).

Laggards: Eli Lilly Apple and Amazon. Farewell to Old Plank Road!

Now for the sad sacks. Eli Lilly took a tumble. Apparently a rival company is muscling in on their turf. Tough luck doc! Apple's down because investors got spooked by some revenue miss. Missed revenue? The horror! The horror! And Amazon... Well it's up only slightly but it's still on the list. The Trump administration didn't like something about them. Politics! It's enough to make a rabbit pull his ears off!
