Uh Oh! UnitedHealth Gets a Beating
Ay caramba! So like UnitedHealth (UNH) stock got totally pantsed recently. Down almost 50%! That's like Milhouse losing his glasses and his lunch money TWICE! Apparently some 'news driven gaps down' happened whatever that means. Even I know that's not good. It's even worse than when Bartman dropped that ball! Long term support near $447? Gone! Poof! Like my chances of ever getting a good grade. This is gonna sting!
Possible Rebound? Don't Have a Cow Man!
But wait! Before you start blaming everything on Comic Book Guy there's hope! Apparently this UNH stock is like me after detention – ready to cause some trouble... I mean rebound! Some fancy indicators like these DeMARK thingamajigs say it's 'oversold.' Translation: it's due for a comeback baby! Though if I were a shareholder I might take this opportunity to sell. Just sayin'.
Healthcare Sector Blues – Itchy and Scratchy Style!
Turns out UNH isn't the only one feeling the pinch. The whole healthcare sector is like Springfield – full of problems! Big shots like Amgen (AMGN) Eli Lilly & Co. (LLY) and even Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) are having a bad time. It's like when Mr. Burns tries to be nice – it just never works out!
Amgen's at the Bottom of the Barrel
Amgen though is extra pathetic. It's like when I got detention for pranking Skinner with a bullhorn during a school assembly. It's back to its long term support area near $260. Apparently even Amgen is getting a four week stabilization period which should help it perform better. I bet Millhouse is jealous.
Defensive Properties Huh?
But here's the kicker these healthcare stocks are supposed to be 'defensive.' Like Lisa's saxophone skills warding off boredom. So if the market tanks even more they should do better. Maybe. Or maybe not. I wouldn't bet my skateboard on it.
Caveat Emptor Dudes!
So there you have it. UNH's stock is like a rollercoaster – down now maybe up later. But remember I'm just a ten year old cartoon character not a financial advisor.
