Alright listen up dudes and dudettes! Bart Simpson here reporting live from the front lines of the broke brigade! Seems like more and more Americans are hitting up those 'Buy Now Pay Later' deals just to fill their shopping carts with like actual food. Groceries man! It's gone from financing concert tickets to financing... kale? Seriously uncool!

Don't Have a Cow Man! Debt's Piling Up!

According to some nerd survey from LendingTree (whoever they are) about half the peeps are using these BNPL things. And guess what? A quarter of them are doing it for groceries. That's up from last year! And even worse almost half of them are late on payments. I'd say they should have thought of that before they bought that family size box of Sugar Frosted Krusty O's!

Eat My Shorts Inflation Strikes Again!

Some super smart finance guy Matt Schulz is saying all this is because inflation is still a pain in the butt interest rates are sky high and the economy is more confusing than Krusty the Clown's tax returns. Basically everyone's trying to stretch their dough thinner than Milhouse's patience when he's trying to build a fort.

I Didn't Do It! BNPL Dangers!

These BNPL loans are like tempting little devils man. They seem cool 'cause they don't charge interest at first. But if you're late BAM! Fees hit you harder than Nelson Muntz's fist. And lots of people have multiple loans going at once which is like juggling chainsaws – eventually you're gonna drop one on your foot.

It's getting so bad that even DoorDash is letting people use BNPL to order food. I mean seriously? Financing a Krusty Burger? That's even more pathetic than Dad trying to fix the toilet with duct tape! I mean that's gonna be a new low even for Springfield.

So what's the big picture? This Schulz dude isn't saying it's a full blown recession (yet!) but he thinks things are gonna get worse before they get better. Which means more peeps struggling to pay for donuts. D'oh! Looks like I'm gonna need to start charging extra for my chalkboard gags.
