Economists those brainy types are saying that artificial intelligence or AI as the kids call it isn't to blame. At least not yet baby! It seems professional and business services the industry that represents white collar roles hasn't experienced much hiring activity over the past two years. Oh behave!

So if it ain't AI what's causing this employment buzzkill? Well apparently it's more about structural issues in the economy. Why isn't AI taking over the world... or at least our spreadsheets? The decline in job creation has been happening for years and back then AI was "pretty awful," according to Bustamante. According to a report by Indeed most job skills are unlikely to be replaced by this GenAI thingy. In fact a whopping 68.7% of skills are either "very unlikely" or "unlikely" to be replaced. So you can breathe easy... for now. But remember the future is uncertain like trying to predict Dr. Evil's next harebrained scheme! Yeah baby!

Jobs are Going to Transform Baby!

So while AI isn't snatching your job yet things are gonna change baby! "Certainly jobs are going to transform," Stahle said. Openings for consulting jobs related to implementing generative AI are on the rise. Management consulting roles with AI language accounted for 12.4% of GenAI postings. This shows the rise of consulting and AI jobs! Shagadelic!

The Future is Now (Maybe)

The World Economic Forum predicts that by 2030 AI could create 170 million new jobs! That's 14% of current employment baby! But hold your horses – about 92 million jobs could be displaced. So the game is afoot. If you're a knowledge based worker you might wanna bone up on AI skills to stay ahead of the curve. Time to brush up on your AI skills baby yeah!
