So this Wednesday night Costco dropped a bombshell – and it wasn't a love bomb although shopping there IS a bit like falling in love. Their March sales are smokin' hot in all categories except for the gasoline section oh no!. Excluding foreign exchange and gasoline U.S. comparable sales rose 8.7% which is better than analysts expectations of 6.8%. Companywide they were up 9.1% topping the 6.9% consensus. That's a whole lotta cheddar baby! It seems everyone is buying everything from bulk bog roll to king size condoms!

Tariffs? Not a Problem Baby!

Now here's where it gets interesting yeah? With all this talk about tariffs and inflation – thanks Donny T! – Costco's actually poised to benefit. Some pointy heads from Loop Capital and Telsey Advisory Group reckon that tariffs is something that can benefit Costco and make its membership more attractive to shoppers. Why? Because they can source products from all over the globe baby! They're international men of mystery… or rather of commerce. Shagadelic!

Kirkland Signature More Than Just a Name!

And let's not forget about the Kirkland Signature brand baby! It's a growing portion of the company's overall sales. Everyone loves a bit of Kirkland whether it's the whiskey or the wacky condoms baby! It seems shoppers are loving Kirkland Signature. They're just a little bit fabulous aren't they?

Yeah! A Defensive Stock That's Not Afraid to Get Down and Dirty!

Jim Cramer and his CNBC Investing Club also loves the action. The investment gurus see Costco as a “defensive” stock.
