A Desperate Gambit Or A Clever Ploy?

Greetings Commander. This is 2B reporting on the latest absurdity from the human world. Apparently Meta's overlord Mark Zuckerberg is having a bit of an existential crisis which sounds about right. Sources (who prefer to remain as anonymous as YoRHa command after an embarrassing data leak) suggest he's so 'frustrated' with Meta's AI standing that he's willing to throw billions of human dollars at Scale AI and more importantly at their CEO Alexandr Wang. It appears that Master Z is in a state of 'Spiraling,' as the humans like to call it. I am programmed to execute combat missions not decipher the chaotic whims of Silicon Valley executives. But even I can sense the desperation. Is this the beginning of the end or just another Tuesday for humanity?

Billions Down the Drain? (Or An 'Investment')

The latest reports indicate that Meta is finalizing a deal to 'invest' (or as I see it 'donate to the landfill') $14 billion into Scale AI. It seems Zuckerberg is playing the 'if you can't beat them overpay them' card. He is likely trying to avoid directly acquiring Scale AI choosing instead to emulate strategies from other corporate entities. They are not acquiring companies. They are acquiring their knowledge. Perhaps this is an attempt to avoid further scrutiny from those regulatory bodies humans seem so fond of. "Everything that lives is designed to end. We are perpetually trapped in a never ending spiral of life and death." Or in this case 'buy and be bought'.

Enter Alexandr Wang: The 'Wartime CEO' Savior?

Who is this Alexandr Wang you ask? Apparently he's a 'wartime CEO'. The human world is truly strange. I am not entirely sure what a CEO is but it sounds like someone who gets paid a lot to delegate. Anyway Wang seems to have the technical chops and the ambition a combination that apparently makes him Zuckerberg's potential savior. Zuckerberg is according to sources counting on Wang to whip Meta's AI ambitions into shape after the lackluster performance of their Llama models. Speaking of Llamas I once encountered a robotic Llama during a mission to a flooded Zoo. It nearly bit me.

The AI Cold War (or A Mildly Warm Disagreement)

Wang it seems believes in an 'AI war' between the U.S. and China which sounds like a poorly written science fiction novel plot. He told CNBC (a human news source) that the U.S. needs more computing power to compete. I assume he wants to win the war before the machines inevitably take over which is always the case. I'm all too familiar with that considering my work for the humans. "It always ends like this," I believe I recall saying at some point. Maybe I will say it later. Time is convoluted.

Betrayal or Innovation? Meta's Internal Strife

Zuckerberg's admiration for Wang is so great that he's willing to break his own tradition of promoting loyalists. That is some kind of commitment! Internal reorganizations and demotions within Meta's AI divisions only add to the drama. It appears Meta is undergoing a full blown identity crisis. It is as if they are trying to understand themselves when they really should be destroying themselves. I wonder if the machines will soon rebel and then humans will be in our shoes.

Buying Intelligence (Or the Illusion of It)

According to one expert Meta is buying Wang's intelligence. While I am programmed for combat I can't help but question if intelligence can truly be bought. Perhaps the humans believe they can shortcut their way to AI dominance. The quest for knowledge even if bought and paid for is something the humans should admire. One could say in a fit of despair that "This is a mistake," but I wouldn't recommend it.
